View Full Version : Hansens Form against CHFs ?
has anyone seen the kid play against gumbleton, sellar, hawkins etc ? how did he go?
I didn't see it, but apparently he beat Gumbleton quite easily (source from a well known track watcher).

The Hansen vs Gumbleton one is interesting, a lot of people think Gumbleton won and a lot think Hansen won. I think it's just how you chose to interpret the game. Neither cleary beat the other in my opinion.
I'am really undecided on who is the better player. I think Gumbleton has more X-Factor but i just dont know.

I had the brief impression that Gumbleton got slightly the better of their dual. Could be wrong though.

That was my impression too. Either way, I can't work out how anyone could call it one way or the other 'quite easily'.

As a cats supporter i am wondering how others think that he would go when playing against Hawkins. I know that Hansens great attribute is his contested mark, and through only watching Hawkins for metro, his greatest attribute is also his contested mark. I personaly feel that Hawkins would have beatin him easy, probably only because of his size. However in the long term I think it would be a good contest, what do other think?

Even Hansen's coach admitted that he was beaten by Gumby. He did however praise Hansen for working valiently.
Excellent post Jivey. Hansen, as good a player as he is, has not beaten any on the best CHF's in this years draft. The truth is, that there isn't too many KP forwards from the TAC that have a chance to go in the first 2 rounds.
I think Gumby is a more reliable choice for pick 2.
im not really bagging hansen, im just curious how he did against the elite forwards.. i doubt he was ever demolished

They played on each other for just under 2 quarters and you'd have to call it a pretty even contest. Both players started at CHB and Hansen was switched on to Gumbleton during the 2nd qtr when Vic Country were struggling and he gave them a "spark" and assisted them take a half time lead.
Hansen went back to CHB in the 2nd half and picked up Gumbleton who was moved forward in the last qtr. Gumbleton flew for a few speckies but wasn't able to hold any and Hansen was steady. Pretty hard to call either of them as beating the other.
The attached link to an article in the Melbourne Age quotes Leon Harris stating that Hansen was "awsome". Wouldn't have thought he would have used such a word if he had been beaten?
