Holy cow batman that’s some bad news for KG, I hope he is ok.

KG is a bumming fool and 99.9% of the time wrong but is a strong supporter of SA.

Not good news for KG but on a positive note "behind closed doors"will have some new material to work with!

it happened this morning when he was strolling along the beach, he is ok, it was more of a strong warning than a serious heart attack. as close to a near death experience as you could get without dying apparently.

ya just never know do you.....

Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery......:thumbsu:

Only problem is - knowing KG's mindset as far as health issues are concerned - I hope he doesn't let it worry him any more than is necessary.

KG in hospital after collapse

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,20676681-5006301,00.html

RADIO personality Ken "KG" Cunningham is recovering in hospital after suffering from circulation problems affecting blood flow to the heart this morning.

Cunningham was walking on the beach with his long time friend Dennis Brown when he began to feel ill.

He continued walking but passed out soon after.

He was unconscious for about two minutes.

Cunningham was rushed to Ashford Hospital and has since undergone a procedure to insert a stent.

Doctors said Cunningham was lucky to not suffer a heart attack and is expected to make a full recovery

Not good news and even though he can be a pain on air no-one deserves suffering like he would have went through.

apparently is was a coronary occlusion, not a heart attack, the blood doesn't get to the heart and your faint basically.

The blood stutters?
a bit of a low comment that one mate, as uch as he is a tossa when talking footy, he is a really nice guy in person, i have known him for a long time, my old man worked with him in the 5DN days, and a very very close family friend is the producer of the sports show, ive seen him a lot over the years and he is always nice and never rude, so speaking ill or a man who was a bee's d*ck of dying is a tad low mate.

Yes all the best KG, footy wouldn't quite be the same without him.

Can't believe I said that.

If he had a blocked coronary artery it would mean that oxygen would not reach the part of the heart supplied with blood by that artery. If the blockage had persisted then that heart tissue would have been permanently damaged. A stent is a tube inserted in a blood vessel that allows blood to flow through. From the news we've got it appears that the stent was put in and blood circulation restored before permanent damage (a heart attack) occurred.
