Well the off-season's gotten to me, so for anyone that's interested, I decided to finish off something I was working on earlier in the year.
It's pretty much a list of all 30+ possession games by all Dogs players over the last 7 years.
Needless to say it's dominated by West. Cross features prominently as well, and should continue to pick up some big numbers.

It's been done 109 times in the last 7 years, by 13 players.
On average, West will have a 30+ possession game 9 times a year, and a 35+ game once every 6-7 rounds.
35+ 30-34 Total Best
Scott West 23 41 64 45
Daniel Cross 2 9 11 36
Brad Johnson 1 6 7 36
Jose Romero 6 6 34
Nathan Brown 1 4 5 35
Rohan Smith 5 5 34
Daniel Giansiracusa 1 3 4 36
Mark Alvey 2 2 33
Nathan Eagleton 1 1 34
Paul Dimattina 1 1 33
Adam Cooney 1 1 33
Lindsay Gilbee 1 1 31
Ryan Griffen 1 1 30
I'm planning on updating it throughout next year, so any feedback would be appreciated.
If the image takes too long to load, let me know and I'll see if I can get a lower quality version happening.

Great Stats Westy07.
It will be interesting to see when/if Griffen adds to his tally next year.
I was at that Kangaroos game. The rest of the team was ordinary but Griffen was outstanding.

I'm surprised that Mark Alvey got in there twice!!

Yes it is a great effort by Westy07. Much appreciated.
An interesting read - but I just rekon that it shows that stats are rubbish now.
In days gone by, you had to earn kicks and be accountable. Now you just need to run off your opponent and be in the chain.
West is a freak - no doubt.
I will never go to another game where Alistair Clarkson is the opposition coach for this very reason. The Hawks play this crap game of unaccountable football. Hodge running around getting 30 easy kicks a game because the rest of the team are instraucted to give it to the "go to man" is crap.
I would much rather see 10 - 12 players with 20 possessions a game than 1 or 2 with 30 and 10-12 with 10 possessions.

Pretty much agree with everything you've said there.
Stats don't mean as much as they used to. There are a few games in there, for example against Adelaide at AAMI this year, where there were 2 or 3 guys who picked up 30 touches, but did pretty much nothing with them.
The crap that Clarkson encourages IMO is almost identical to what Rohde tried to do a few years ago; the 3-4 kicks to get outside defensive 50 in the remote hope that we'd have numbers further up the ground. Needless to say it didn't work and we conceded a lot of goals as a result. With Eade at the helm, we're more direct and we're slowly getting rid of the stuffing around, which IMO is making each possession more valuable than it was 2-3 years ago.
Our game style has been all about high possession footy, which probably goes a long way to explain why there are so many huge numbers in there. West does get a lot of uncontested ball, I'd imagine many of his 38-40 possession games were a result of a lot of uncontested footy. It's his vision that many people underrate. How many others in the AFL can release a player with a 25 meter handball or a quick give over the head?
West does pick up some cheap touches, but I'd much rather a 30 touch game from West than a 35+ game from a half back flank. 10-12 guys picking up 20 touches has happened in the past. Guys like Cross, Boyd, Ray, Cooney, Griffen, Akermanis, Eagleton, Gilbee, Giansiracusa, Hahn, Johnson and McMahon who are very capable of regularly picking up 20+ touches, which can only be a good thing for the club.
And also a big thanks to everyone for the feedback.
