Every year, we have a player that somehow remains in the team for most of the season, and nobody can see why

Last year: Matthew Bishop
Year before: Stuart Cochrane
Year before that: Stuart Cochrane

So this coming season, who's going to get more games than they deserve?

Lonie...easily

To answer the question Thurstans would have to be in the mix.

In the mix at the moment will be Dew, Lonie, Motlop, Thurstans and White......hopefully form will remove at least 2 or 3 of them from those type of discussions.

Nathan Lonie. He's softer than melted butter.

Actually I thought Shattock was last years bashee....Year before I'd say, he was toast at the end of 2005. But in the view of the coaches too.
Lonie/Thurstans/White/Motlop are the immediate 2007 front runners IMO

Hate to say it as my first post on the Port Board guys, but we are likely to be "well positioned" at the next Draft, and the person who will cop it is Mark Williams – who, in my opinion, would be willing to die for the Club and should be retained at all costs.

Oh, I would also like to see Toby pull it out, ... or go away.

And, "indespicably":

Indescribably-the right word (http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?r=2&q=indescribable)

Given that players often have 2nd year blues at their new club, I suspect that either Lonie or Motlop (please not both) set a new low.

2nd year blues usually happen after a good year.

FWIW I posted this on another thread:

"I read that there is not much angst from supporters about Dewy leaving - just a few quaint remarks re good luck etc. I suppose the last couple of average seasons have coloured his more than reasonable contributions early in his career.

With Dew, Kingo, Bishop and Shattock gone I guess that the ol' gold card theory will be put to bed.

I also think that it's going to be quiet time on the board next season unless Thustans finds a few mates to become the 'whipping boys' - either that or Thurstans is going to have very broad shoulders".

I guess earlier posters have highlighted the 'likely suspects'.

Ebo won't, he is developing into a gun.

Lonie.

He probably ran second to Bishop in 2006 as the top player bashing target. If Choco continues to give him games he will cop a lot of bashing.

Thurstans won't cop much because he will be lucky to get a game in 2007.

Hmm, I forsee the winners of the categories in 2007 to be:

Softness - Lonie
Teasing us with the time of our lives, then saying 'No' - Motlop
20 minutes of great play, surrounded by 100 minutes of indifference - Thurstans
Having us scratching our head whether it's him or the coach telling him to play FF in the centre square - White

:thumbsu: :D So true.

If we are talking about who will literally get bashed, hopefully the two w*nkers that are always behind the back row at my seat at your home games. Someone will soon, wait for the Collingwood game (if you have one)?
