Talking with some mates today at work about cricket players from teams who where solid players or had a good start but then have just dropped off the face of the earth so here goes.
West Indies - Daren Ganga- saw not long ago was back in the team , now has gone again, should have opened with gayle last year in the tests when they where here.
Ricardo Powell- dont know why he is not in the ODI team, may be a bit inconistant, but hits the ball hard, is a gun fieldsman, and would be worth more to the team than morton, and soft as butter samuels.
Ramdin- is he injured, cant understand why he isnt keeping and baugh is
Sri Lanka- Zoyza- handy left arm bowler , what happend to him a big loss of form or injury? or just over taken by others
Tilakaratne- was captain then next time i saw them play he wasnt there?
England- O.Shah , got bakc into the test team last year or this year thru injury and i thought played okay and now has not been mentioned again
Anyone else got any players that have come and gone, or just vanished from the scene without you knowing or understanding why

Powell - pretty sure i heard him and Lara did no get along which was an influence at the time cause thats when Lara was having contract issues, but he was very inconsistent.
Tilerkaratne - think age probaly was not on his side with Jayawardana, Attapatu and a few youngsters pushing him out, was not a spectacualr batsman to watch.

Owasis Shah just played for England this year in a Test, think it's in India. Got a bit of controversay since he used the graphite bats that was banned then.

Yep, just shows how bloody injured our side has been this year.
Shah had a pretty crap County Season, he wasn;t even the best Middlesex batsman in fact he was quite a way behind Compton, Joyce and Ed Smith.
I saw Ricardo Powell play in that WI T20 Tournament and Ganga captained one of the teams (T&T i think) He also played in all 4 tests V India so is not exactly out of the picture, he is just very slow so is not suitable for ODI's it seems. Ramdin also seems to be considered a Test player as he played V India this year and also in the 5th ODI, there does seem to be a lot of chopping and changing between the keepers with Keepers in the WI.
'Zippy Zoysa' toured England but others like 'Can you hear the drums...' Fernando, Vaas and 'Slinger' Malinga (They do like a nickname in SL don't they)

Tillekeratne had a pretty decent career I thought, albeit being in and out of the side, in no way did he 'drop off the face of the earth'

I thought that Ramdin looked pretty promising last season. Was surprised to see Baugh elevated to the keeper's spot. Not sure whether he was injured or not.

Not sure whether he was injured or not.He wasn't injured, the selectors just decided to drop him from the one day side after a few failures in New Zealand (they kept him for the Zimbabwe series where he made 37, 4 and 3* then dropped him)

Asish Nehra and Zaheer Khan from India

Zaheer Khan had a pretty good county season with Worcs (Almost took a 10fer at one point) but needs to prove himself in India, as we know when India are at home they do tend to pack their team with spinners so Pace positions are few.
