Seeming as though I just ordered a pizza, I thought I'd ask you Hawk fans what your favourite is.

Fruit, along with chicken, should never be put on a pizza. It's against God's will.

I love an Aussie. I asked a friend of mine who's been travelling the world what they call egg & bacon pizzas in other countries.

Answer: Mate, they don't put that ******** on pizza over there!

I had an Egg and Bacon pizza in Rome, proving that it happens :)

However, here's mine (We owned a Pizza Shop for 15 years, so i had plenty of practice to perfect one)

Mild Salami, Chilli, Ham, Bacon, Pineapple, Chilli, Oregano, Basil, Chilli, Egg

I like em hot :) (Mild salami usually has a nicer flavour than hot salami, hence why i use that, the Pineapple and Egg assists in cooling down the chilli)

Eat it and cry...then cry the next day when it's on the way out too :)

A pizza shop near my house does an Aussie special with

Ham, Bacon, Egg, Prawns and mushroom. It goes alright.

Ahhhh, you've never had a BBQ chicken pizza from my local. Taste sensation.

I went to a pizza bar with a mate who was feeling very hungry. He ordered a pizza and also some chips as well. When they served up the pizza, they'd cooked the chips into the pizza. It was disgusting, but if you're hungry enough you'll eat anything.

How do you guys feel about those so-called 'gourmet' pizzas with "laa-di-da" toppings such as (non-exhuastive) prosciutto, smoked salmon, artichokes, portobello mushroms, sundried tomatoes and the like?

I think they're crap :thumbsd:

And what are ur feelings about anchovies? Perosnally, I think anchovies rule... (as long as there ain't any on my capriciossa ;) )

Anchovies are okay, I personally like to stay away from seafood in most foods, can be a bit dodgy. Capriciossa is good too. Aussie is crap, so much ham, yugh. Mexicana is great, lots of chilli. :thumbsu:

Hawaiians are the way to go in my book, but for a bit of variety you can't go past a mean supreme or even a chicken pizza of the sort.

Oh, i almost forgot the Margarita - they're hard to go past.

I love the gourmet pizzas. There's a place that does them in the old GPO in Melbourne. So good!

Oh, and a word to the wise for anyone going to Tassie this year. I only went to one pizza place, so I don't know if this is universal, but I ordered an Aussie and then remembered my mate couldn't eat egg, only to be informed by the waitress that "there's no egg on an Aussie pizza."
"Excuse me?"
"There's no egg on an Aussie pizza."
"There is where I come from; Australia. What makes it an Aussie then?"
"The bacon."

It was at this time, your honour, that I stabbed her in the head with my fork.

Worst pizza there is.

Yes I know but around my area - believe it or not - this is the best I have found. Mind you if you bring BBQ Chicken with Bacon on thick crust, YUK, TERRIBLE, you might as well grab a handfull of grass and eat that.

Their garlic pizza isnt bad either.

Anyone ever tried Woodfired pizza? It's a slightly healthier option than normal pizza (though definitely alot more expensive), but it tastes like a slice of heaven. :p

La Porchutes (Close enough) in South Yarra, Melbourne makes the best pizza's. Never tasted a pizza as good as the ones they make there.

Best pizza I ever had was a margheritta in Naples
Wood fired sourdough thin base natural tomato flavour and basil .

Everything else is a poor example of the art

American Fast Food Pizzas should be outlawed as a crime against food and life.

Little side note
I was in Sicily and had a ham and pineapple pizza the guy had relos in Aus and tried it in Surfers and loved it
Apparently its an Australian invention and should be called the "Aussie"

PS
The worst thing about non italian franchise pizzas is the pink rubbish they call ham.
Its obviously an American Fast Food Invention and should not be considered food.
Rule of thumb if there isnt an Italian making the pizza I probably wont like it.
I make exceptions for Middle eastern Pizzas or Turkish Pides,(spinach, egg, potato and feta)MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Gosh! Some of the toppings mentioned here would be absolutely delicious.

I was at guest at a home where they grow their own vegetables and the host made tomato-past from his/her freshly picked tomatoes. Their pizzas were sumptuous.

Well I just moved from Bendigo to Melbourne. Fortunately I am around the corner from Golden Pizza, at the end of Lygon St. Anyone know it?? They make a great pizza.

Must say, my favourite pizza has to be a VOLCANO, or MEXICAN or bloody hot!!!! Take your pick!!

Ham,Onion,Hot Salami,Cheese,Jelapenos, and lots of Chilli. A bit of basil or garlic or oregano doesn't hurt, and capsicum if you wish. All hail the hot pizza!!!

And anyone who suggested dominos should be banned from the board.....
