An article in the Sunday Times has all but declared that Pavlich has been given the nod for the captaincy. Whoever woulda thunk it?

Hopefully the Sunday Times is correct this time.

I'm hoping for a press conference announcing Pav as captain and a new 3 year deal when the main group return to training. It would be nice to get Sandi locked away prior to the start of next season too.

He's been awesome when given the captaincy while bell has been out.

Great step forward for our club and his career, I see him taking his game up another notch.
He must love the idea of Tarrant standing along side him, taking a few of the defenders off him, less man handling etc.

J Carr obvious deputy.

Wouldnt mind seeing McPharlin a deputy down back as well.

I reckon two are enough.

Bell will still leed but I think its great if some spot light is taken off him, let the little guy play.

Where have I heard that before, we have a captain and the spiritual captain of the team ?.

Belly will have more time to tell the umps that they have made an error, maybe in latin.

The thing I liked most about the Tarrant deal was that the senior players called him during trade week, indicating that the playing group was behind the clubs move to acquire him.

There is still the small matter of a contract renewal/extension to get through as well. Iirc his current one expires end of '07. Ideally we need a new contract to at least to the end of '09. The two should go hand in hand. Contract and captaincy in one statement.
