Anything by Agatha Christie but especially up to late 40's

Why is it your favourite? It would have to be one of the most depressing books ever written.

Don't find it depressing myself. Yes it is dark but that appeals to me. No love story comes close to that of Heathcliffe and Cathy.

Anything by Michael Connelly is worth a read, especially if you like crime novels, however The Poet the best Connelly novel by far.

Tolkien and Frank Herbert from my youth. I tend to read non fiction nowadays. Mostly history or topical.
