I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on Simon Fletcher.
Personally, I've always quite liked him, although lately, he has been quite frustrating to watch.
He is a good, honest tryer, but I really think he needs to step up quickly to really reach the best of his abilities. Thoughts?

he's had his good days and his bad...
and yes he needs to step up... he can take a good strong mark sometimes... but others he just seems to drop...
seems to have bulked up over the pre-season (did u see those arms:eek: ) and hopefully he'll have a good season this year adn we'll see some more of that talent he often flashes

He's going to fight for the last couple of positions in the team all year and he will have to show a lot to get there. By my reckoning, about 19 positions are signed sealed and delivered for round 1 and Fletch isn't one of those. He is a very useful player who can play either end. His height and lack of pace are to his detriment but his heart and strong hands are assets. Will be interesting ......

Yeah he is a fringe player who has to step up or pack up.

Most of you know that i work at Carlton, and Simon Fletcher is one of the hardest workers and talkers on the track. But very much a confidence player, i think he will hold his place in the side through most of year.
Your right blues rock, he has huge arms! from late december to now he has been workin pretty hard in the gym, and the results are showing.
Im a big wrap for fletch...

For mine it's not the height or pace that's the issue, it's that he doesn't get enough of the ball. I reckon 5 more possissions a game he'd be a very valuable player (who wouldn't of course;) )

PP your obsession with Carlton is starting to shine through.
You're starting to upgrade from a closet Carlton supporter to a full on obsessed one ;) ;) ;)
