UFC 66 - 30th December

I'm getting in early. Who's your prediction, and why?

I'm tipping Liddell to overpower Ortiz and take him with his stand up. Probably a KO before the end of round 3. . If Tito has improved his takedown abilities and gets him and keeps him down though, Tito may end up with a gnp victory or even a sub. I'd say that is less likely however. In any case I cant see this fight going the full distance.

Should be a cracking fight as both look to be in great shape and Tito looks to be a better fighter than he was in the first fight.

My Odds: Liddell 1.80 Tito 2.00

I’m with you, Magnum.

Liddell should over power Ortiz on the stand up, but I won’t be surprised if Ortiz gets the take down and works some GNP. The first fight was good, Ortiz could do nothing but cover up to those strikes and Liddell still got through.

Will be a good fight, can't wait. Where to for Ortiz if he loses? A possible fight with Renato Sobral down the line?

Sobral v Ortiz would be a great fight, I personally rate ortiz slightly higher than i rate babalu but that's based on chuck destroying him twice and i thought ortiz looked more chuck's level than babalu did when they fought.
There's gotta be a time when chuck slows down surely, the guy's what 36 or something? Does he think he's another natural? I'm tempted to say ortiz but if chuck's on his game still it'll probably be ko in the 2nd or 3rd. If that's the case it'll mean another iceman flurry of fists and i got nothing at all against watching those fists when they're flying. crowd goes nuts. chicks breasts bouncing all over the shop. love it.

Liddell should have a few more fights left in him after this. I also think Ortiz/Babalu would be a great match. I'm a big Babalu nuthugger, so I would go with him via submission.

if Couture cant take Chuck down what chance does Tito have?

Couture cant when? Now? He's 43 Tito's only 30 or something. When Couture was 39, 40, 41 he obviously took chuck to the ground.

Tito couldn't when he was 28 either. Tito is a very very good wrestler. Randy was world class.

I’m really hoping Liddell goes through Ortiz now. The Rampage rematch for the title will be so big, I can’t even describe it. Can you imagine the PPV buys for that fight?

For some reason I've always hated Chuck Liddel. Maybe because I was always such a Couture fan.

I think people are overrating the whole massive PPV buys for a Chuck/Rampage fight. Rampage had only had 1 major fight in the US on WFA, The average UFC fan would have no idea of his accomplishments in Pride. They need to educate fans on the whole backstory, and thats going to be hard without giving Pride free publicity.

Liddell is already built up to the casual UFC fan. All that is needed to be said is that Rampage has previously beaten him and there should be immediate interest.

Yeah would agree with that. Would be a good subscription, not GSP v MH type hype.
