How frustrating is it having interviews with Grant Thomas, Nick Riewoldt and Luke Ball on our homepage but only available to subscribers?

With the decision of Essendon to no longer continue on with the popular Bombertalk forum because of alleged legal ramifications, I think it's quite clear that we won't be getting a fan forum back on the official site. At least they had the courtesy to let their members and supporters know.

One positive about the two sites is that they are featuring a diary of Andrew Thompson each week.

Apart from the fact that it's great to get a perspective of what goes on inside the club, perhaps some rival supporters may see their isn't much difference between us and every other team. On second thoughts, who cares what they think. :D

I've only bought Inside Footy once this season but that featured a diary written by Nick Riewoldt. Does anyone know if this is a regular feature of the magazine?

Whatever happens with the respective sites in the future, I'll be very happy as long as we get to read about our weekends victory on more than a few occasions. :)

the new site is now just a boring sterile money grabbing 'initiative' from afl.

i hope that during the season they update the site a bit more regularly with some interesting information because the site as it stands now is just pure cr@p.

imo what keeps people interested during the week are rumours, scandal, player shenanigans and the like. that is why the ff was so popular, maybe they can add their own sanitised version of a rumour, gossip and who's doing who section, but i doubt it.

What ever happened to the FAN FORUM that was on the Saints site. It was by far the best footy read going around. Has that been scuppered by this AFL site thing ?

Correct, absolutely correct.

A forum where the coach & president would regularly log in & give magnificent information for the die hard fans to feast on, and the cockroaches at the AFL have killed it.

i have been buying inside footy for the past 4 weeks, Nick reinwoldt diary is a regular feature, althuogh i am not sure whether it is for just the pre season or the whole year.

it sure gives a different perpective onre st kilda's training.

Changing the subject

thats the spirit sammm.;) not.

what i want out of this year for the saints is an improvement across the board from players like moyle, blake, hayes, begley and baker. if last years dynamic duo kossi and reiwoldt continue to display their obvious class whilst milne and oliver become regular contributors i will be happy. if this years group of clarke, maguire, dal santo, houlihann and ball can gain some experience and show some glimpses of talent in the seniors then i will have some hope of better things to come in the following years.

we all crave success and i would love to win every game of the year but we have to be patient with this group of players.

i remember a few years ago watching a young nathan burke spear a pass onto a young pluggers chest and wondering if finally we had some players that could win us some games. we had lockett, winmar, loewe, burke and harvey all coming through at the same time. watching that group develop was rewarding and blo*dy frustrating because we had not played in the finals for 20 odd years. the euphoria we felt when in '91 we made the finals made all the pain, frustration and bitter memories of the previous 20 years simply fade away.

this crop of youngsters reminds me of the last lot, the same thing is happening at the club now.

yes in the short term we might only have limited victories and watching them will be frustrating and painful at times but when success comes back to moorabbin it will be sweet indeed.

go saints. :D :D :D

C'mon Guys we're gonna bloody smash them this year... just you wait... there is no way our list is as bad as it was and with the heads up stairs we are obviously going to kick some arse... This Everitt thing is a blessing in disguise.. trust me... :)..

Of course we are going to lose our fair share of games but another few wins over last year is going to see us powering on up!!...

Onwards St Kilda!!!...

Great post STL,

It may take a little time but I think we are on the right track. We'll know if that's the case when we get into the season proper.
