Are you a Mayhem Monkey?

I have been a fan for a couple of years now, but that was partly because of his antics, appearance and interviews outside of competition more than anything. There is no doubting that he has a unique personality, one of the more entertaining ones in mixed martial arts.

What are your thoughts on him as a fighter? The first time I saw him was against GSP at UFC 52 and you have to respect a man who can be beat down, have his nose broken and laugh about it. He is taking on Trigg in a couple of hours or so in Hawaii for his ICON Middleweight title, so I’m awaiting the outcome of that bout. While we’re on Mayhem, what are some of your favorite quotes from his interviews and in general?

Love Mayhem. Hes hilarious and backs it up in the ring. His latest interview on Sherdog in the Savage Dog show is funny. Loved this quote:

"Whats your plan for this fight with Trigg?"

"I do some kickbox, I speak with an accent i maybe do some jiujiiiitsu." All in his best Wanderlei Silva accent.

Oh, man. I was listening to the Savage Dog show last night and his conversation about the lion was unbelievably awesome. His interview on the Beatdown several months ago inside a supermarket was also hilarious.

Just got the word that Trigg beat Mayhem with some vicious soccer kicks in the second round for a TKO victory. Trigg isn’t a tin can, so it isn’t completely surprising but I was thinking Mayhem would come away with the victory. Disappointing, I have to say. Apparently Mayhem has a decent contract with ICON, so I doubt we’ll be seeing him in any of the big promotions anytime soon. I’m not surprised at this result, just disappointed.
