Just noticed on Baggy green.

This is interesting as Brad Hodge and Shane Watson may not be available for selection due to injury.

Looking at the ACB's contracted players, the following batsman are contracted;

Jacques
Katich
Symonds

I'm not much of a Katich fan (seems to have no spark) and Symonds hasn't got the technique or temprement for tests. Jacques may be a consideration, however it may throw the side out as he is an opener.

I reckon they should give Marcus North a go if Brad Hodge isn't available. In any case it will be interesting to see was the selectors do.

Just looked on the Cricket Australia website and Adam Voges is the replacement. I must say I'm a little surprised I would have thought North was a better option. Anyway, let's see how he goes.

Symonds has also been included. I'm not sure what the selectors see in him. As a one day player his ok, but tests - his had 10 chances and in the main done nothing.

Good player for Australia, just had a bad run lately I suppose. Anyway good luck to him.

Ok then Voges. I don't know much about him because all the domestic cricket is on foxtel now. Do you think he is just a quick replacement or could he in the team perminantly?

Don't think he'll get a run. However I feel he is not as good a propistion as Marcus North or Chris Rodgers (both also of WA).

Brad Hodge is injured, if not I would have preferred him to Vogues, Rodgers or North at the moment

Also the selection of Symonds has been puzzled. This guy may be a good one day player but is not test material IMO.

Cameron White for mine would should have been selected. He is a very good batsman and decent bowler.

White's batting is arguably better than Symonds and I would think he is a better bowler. Why not give the young kid a go over a tried and tested (but failed) player. Although I do love Roy and I hope he goes well!
