Best they keep him for the Test arena where he is as tight as a sieve :p

Harmison has a well-known contempt for ODIs so this comes as no surprise.

In other words he's been dropped from the ODI team so he's announced his retirement to hide that fact.

Bigger news story than some Warne guy retiring. Harmison 100 % drug free.

Worked for Martyn, maybe that's where he got the idea from. ;)

Martyn has a long, illustrious career, he was winding up, but he wouldn't have been dropped until this Series was over.

Harmison is just a mentally weak bitch.

What a cry baby. He should try and improve in the ODIs not be a soft ******** and run away from his bad bowling.

Good to see Harmi making a choice that will benifit him in the long run.

If he keeps bowling like he has this series, I doubt it will make any difference to the long run.

Harmison should claim he's on drugs. At least it would be an excuse for his pathetic bowling efforts on the current tour.

Harmison oh how crap, weak decision etc etc.

What was your reaction when 'druggie' Warne retired from ODI's out of curiousity?

And you guys wonder why Likka doesnt like you guys

Warney wasn't 28...

ODIs arent his thing. He doesnt have to play them if he doesnt want to. How does that make him weak? He has already stated he doesnt really like the game of cricket.

But of course, what a weak individual

Good on him, ODI is a complete joke. I'd rather watch women's tennis than a ODI. Test cricket or death!

I'm not majorly bothered by this decision, if it helps him rediscover the form he had in the West Indies in 04 when it comes to Test Cricket then it can only be a good thing.

What's so funny?

well he has had one decent bowling show in the first 3 tests the rest of the time he's been spanked around the ground by the aussies.

I dont think the aussie batsmen have much to worry abuot harmlesson in the test series or the ODIs.

If you don't want to be pointed at, and laughed at, never mention those two names in the same sentence when discussing cricket again.

For Harmison? Keeping the ball on the pitch would suffice, no?

He realises he's in trouble and on a downward spiral but has never been anything special at ODI level anyway. It could extend his Test career for another 4-5 years, so good luck to him.

Harmisson and Flintoff are not the kind of guys that will will play much past their thirties. Simply too big

Courtney Walsh & Curtley Ambrose anyone.:D

Actaully I think you may be right in regards to Flintoff, with his action he kinda powers the ball down the pitch & he is a big unit & the strain is already appearing in regards to his ankle.

Harmison on the other hand has that easy long limbed sort of action that produces good pace with seemingly litle efoort, a bit like Ambrose, so on the physical side of things I reckon he could go on.

I don't think that he will though, he just doesn't seem to be in love with the game, he's said more than once he'd rather be centre forward for NUFC.

Also I think the way he's gone since 2004 means that if any of the other tall quicks come through then he could be replaced in the Englan side & I doubt he'd ever get back in if that happens.

Tremlett is back on the radar & Broad is the coming man, I'll be surprised if Harmison even gets to play another 20 Tests.

If Simon Jones gets back to full fitness it'll make it even tougher.

Talking of Broad wtf was he left out fo the one day side? He's probably a better bet as a one day bowler than any of htme plus he can swing the bat & with our batting fragility that's bloody important. The selecting is shocking at the moment.

Honestly, he is ********, so who gives a ********?

A 'world class strike bowler' who wets his pants every time he has to play in another country?

What a joke.

Mentally pathetic.

7/12 in WestIndies, although I take your point, there's something missing for sure.

He has all the tools (physically anyway).

I think you're forgetting that he used to be #1 bowler in the world.

No doubt he is on a downward spiral, but by retiring from ODI's it will allow him to play test cricket for longer.

Are you still a bit bitter about the Edbaston test???? I understand if you are. HARRRRRRRMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIII
