View Full Version : Favourite Shane Warne memory
Being a bit of a cricket tragic, I thought I would post my favourite Shane Warne moments with you guys. There are so many, but here are my top few:
* The ball of the century against England (Mike Gatting)
* His hatrick at the 'G, and subsequent celebration with David Boon
* His entire series against the poms last year
* The way that he owned South African Darryl Cullinan, and basically ended his career.
There are many many more, but these are at the top of my list.
Anyone else have any favourite Warnie moments?
basically, those ones you mentioned stand out for me... but really, just seeing the man live in action, tops all those i saw on tv

It's not my favourite Warnie moment, but I'll never forget how he made it to 99 runs at the WACA, only to be caught one run short. I've never been able to look a Kiwi straight in the face ever since. :o

Definately the Hat-Trick at the MCG
Winning back the Ashes for his country and then ending his career on top!

my favorite Warne moment...
Watching the look on Gattings face after getting "That Ball". I am thankful that I was watching it on tele because there is no way on earth that you would have seen the bewilderment on his face as he walked off the pitch wondering how the hell did I just get bowled.
Worst Warne moment...
Would have to be yesterday when he announced his retirement.
Still, maybe now he can get on with things, patch things up with Simone and have a normal life (all be it a very rich one) without the media beating up on him for anything and everything.

And IIRC, didn't Eddie McGuire reveal that the ball he went out on should have been called a no-ball?
yep, whoever it was, overstepped

Daniel Vettori, and it was a no-ball by quite a margin
I'm sure it's floating around youtube somewhere

We all have so many memories of Warney.
That for me is a highlight.
He is my favourite sports person, he even beats the great Carlton players in my eyes.
When he announced his retirement, I was absolutely shattered. He could keep playing until he is 40, get 1000 wickets.

On or off the field? :thumbsu:
I was looking for footage of Safran sending out the remote control car out with a cigarette and I found this.

probably the time his text messages came out to the public, that was pretty funny.
In cricket terms, watching his 700th today was awesome.

It's just gotta be the time the cameras were on him at Lords whilst he was out having a smoke on the balcony. He may as well have been looking straight at the camera flipping everyone off who didn't like him doing that, cos he damn well knew the cameras were gonna be on him.
That was a bigger statement about who he was than 'the ball of the century' imo. :)
