Has anyone got any news about this league? Heard that Benella All Blacks are the side to beat under the guidance of super coach Peter Sheehan. A great coach who takes the game seriously and demands professionalism. Did hear that Dean Laidley was keen to have him as an assistant.:thumbsu:

Mick Wilson has taken the Tarra job, may be a playing coach as hes been training with the group. A few Rovers blokes are expected to make the move out and thus making them look alright and should be there in september, making a serious impact may be a different matter

Buying quality players doesn't strengthen clubs. It only ruins them long term. Whats going to happen to all the guys at Whorouly who wont get a game now.
10 imports is a lot of places taken.

moosha

Agree with slim. While these days its almost impossible to be successful without poaching a few but having a "crack" and paying 10 mercenaries may bring short term glory but leave the club on its knees in years to come. When the money dries up or another club in the area decides that want to buy a flag, these blokes move on and those 10-15 players that were shafted in the first place are not so keen to pull on the boots for that club again.

Trotta
18th February 2007, 19:33
true. Having 10 in one team is a bit much and i'd say it would be naive to think they'd all play for the love. Bringing new blood to the team isnt a bad thing, just means current players have to work harder to keep their spot. a bit of competitiveness.

An angry W J Armstrong decided to take matters into his own hands and in what was the bravest or stupidist move of his slow career ran through his then cricketing team mate at the centre bounce. Abs didnt know what hit him and wally ran very quickly for the rest of the day. Always 10 metres in front of Abley.

The blokes that have left blacks weren’t there when things got tough last year. Very focused group there at the moment and if injuries to key players are avoided, improvement will defiantly be seen. Whorouly premiers by the length of the strait.
