Ladies and gentlemen I introduce to you the greatest cult hero following group on this board. Our club has desperately searched for a tall forward to lead them to the promised land. A few of us have been fooled into believing false key-foward prophecies such as those of Tom Davidson, Nathan Saunders, Pat Bowden and Aaron James. Children all is forgiven as long as you see the light and take in Andrew McDougall as our key forward saviour.
This thread wil act as a virtual temple for Andrew McDougalls followers to reflect on his greatness with fellow believers (followers are called Doogs' Droogs cause Droogs sounds like Doogs and I'm a big Clockwork Orange fan).
Here is a picture of him to enjoy.

Mods please delete the last 2 posts, this is a place to worship Doogs, not for throwing mud (and boy don't we have an expert in that field in Pembleton).
Mods can you also creat another sub-section for this board? We have the normal section, the Dog House and the Can Bar. I think this board needs an Andrew McDougall sub-section. Remember Doogs sells.

Apologies to my fellow Droogs for that. Getting back on track, I will be posting something Bulldog fans might not have known about Doogs everyday.
Did you know?....
Doogs regularly did his grocery shopping during Eagle's away games to avoid encountering Eagle fans. Eagle fans are obviously not worthy of his greatness.

Have to say I liked the guy when I met him last month.
Tall, so tall.
When I showed his photo with me at work - they laughed and wanted to know if he was standing on a box. I tucked nicely under his arm pit.

He came into the surfshop i work at the other day to hire a board. He was trying to stay very low key with his beanie and glasses number.

Being serious for a moment, I don't think you have either. His attitude there seemed a joke, really needed a change, last chance etc. Upgrade in 2nd round is nice for your lot (we didn't have to pay for it as it was going to Aker anyway), sometimes just turning over the list is healthy.
Now back to the mindless worship of Doogs!

That's what talented but lazy players do sometimes. I know a guy who had been cutting corners at work as much as possible, but then he decided he wanted to change his reputation and be good at his job, and that guy is now the hardest working and best shipping whatsit there is. :)
I think you are imagining the familiar quality, probably based on not having seen him play much. The KPP's we have traded for recently have been battler types (Jade, Bassett, Morgan, Bartlett) whereas Doogs' is a wayward talent.
I think some people still underrate just how cheaply we have picked Doogs up. He is a 1st round pick that has shown he can do some stuff at AFL level, and we got him for nothing. Morgan and Bassett, who had done much less in their careers before joining us then Doogs has, and had no reputation for being particularly talented, each cost us a third round pick IIRC.

McDougal undoubtedly has talent..
Kicked 35 goals in 2004? Something like that anyway.
2005 the big Unit stepped in while Doogs was injurred.
2006 the big Unit made FF his own.
Sorry, guys, I'm not a big follower of the Western Bulldogs. Infact, I don't even follow football nearly as passionately as anyone here, who are Daniel Cross and Lindsey Gilbee?
Back when I did follow football a little more passionately, you guys had a different coach, and I'd never heard of these guys? I know they aren't recent draft picks like Ryan Griffen - for example.
...Maybe you traded for them? But I'm sure I'd have remembered them from someone elses list?
Oh! OR maybe you guys got a new coach... and I'd assume had many new assistants and such - but I'm not sure about that. Just MAYBE someone on your coaching panel knows how to get people who may have been in the system for a couple of years but not fulfilling their potential to step it up a notch.
Now I'm probably just crazy, but isn't a 22/23? year old Forward/Ruckmen playing for his career a better option then a 28/29 year old Forward/Defender with busted knees who is playing for his giant contract?
Don't compare doogs to rawlings or anyone.
He is his own player.
There is EVERY chance he will fail, but you know you've given nothing for him. Maybe he'll succeed and kick 40 goals for ya.
Its certainly not unrealistic.
Watch the first half of West Coast vs Brisbane where Doogs kicked 4 goals on Mal Michael. He can play.
Can you guys help him to play good consistant footy?
I reckon you'll get 30+ goals from him if he plays 20+ games. Not a big return, but could be much more then that.
who are Daniel Cross and Lindsey Gilbee?
Hopeless players and poor draft picks.
Cross is lazy on the track, lacks ticker and fitness while Gilbee can't kick.
Both will be delisted this year.

After being at the back of the Kool-Aid queue in Jonestown and missing out when they ran out of cups, it took me years to find a new messiah. Then when I did, I popped down to the Waco shops for some bread and when I got back, the place was a mess and everyone had gone.
So I'm prepared to take Doogs as my new messiah.

There was one moment that really stood out for me;
Third quarter the ball gets kicked to Doogs at the Geelong Rd end. He doesnt go at the contest hard enough and the ball spills, Doogs picks it up and ignores the easy hand off to Higgins, choosing instead to try and square the ball up to Johnno only to have it smothered of his boot and lose possesion.
Three basic ******** ups in one passage of play. Dont think I'll ever forget it.

All the players tried to square the ball to a man in the centre of the ground-it seemed like a team rule and, being the charitable kind of guy I am, I can kind of see what Doogs was trying to do with the kick. It's just that Missy was screaming for the ball, was in much better position and was on his own.
Doogs just needed to think about it less and go with the first option after messing up the marking contest.
BTW Adrian Anderson is coming up on 3AW soon. Dare you ring in and mention him dropping that easy mark when you spooked him!

I think all Doogs needs is a bit of confidence. Games with the doggies should bring him that and i think that will be enough for him to cement a spot in the team hopefully.
