Just picked up the Guns N' Roses Double Live CD (Live Era '87 - '93) and **** is it a good one. If you even remotely like GnR I HIGHLY reccomend you pick up this CD, you wont regret it.

I especially love the intro.

"You wanted the best, well they didn't f--king make it. So here's what you get. From Hollywood, GUNS AND ROSES!"

Every one of their songs sounds better live IMO, especially Sweet Child O' Mine and November Rain and well...all of them.

The 1 bad thing about the cd has to be too much crowd involvement during 'Patience'.

Anyway, does anyone know when the "NEW" Guns N' Roses will be bringing out their cd (Chinese Conspiracy)?

Haven't got the double live set, and I haven't got a clue what's happening with a supposed new CD BUT I definitely recommend Slash's Snakepit's last album "Ain't Life Grand", which you could probably get on the cheap if you don't already have it.

If my memory serves me correct Jod, it's only GNR by name. Axl Rose is I think the only original band member and the rest are basically no-names.

The whole GNR story has been a very sorry saga since (well, probably including) The Spaghetti Incident. I don't think the band has ever officially split up, despite having only one member and despite not releasing any new (original) material in 11 years!

Sad to say it, but I think Metallica might be heading the same way. Since 1991's self-titled (Black) album, they have only released one real album (Load) and it was crap. Re-Load was basically Load's off-cuts, and there's been an expensive and unnnecessary box set, a symphony thingy a double CD covers album and bugger all proper studio albums.

Now they don't have a bass player, almost 2 years after Jason's departure, and Bob Rock is apparently overdubbing bass onto the CD they are supposedly currently working on.

Anyone notice a trend?
- Big commercial success with their respective 1991 albums
- Became the two biggest bands in hard rock, riding the success of those albums for almost 5 years
- A cover album
- A live album
- Unable to fill line-up vacancies

Axl Rose is a selfish ****, who destroyed one of the best LA bands ever.

He refused Slash entry at a recent Gunners show, made the body guards throw him out, simply because he's too immature to look at Slash enjoying the show.

Word is that Slash, Duff & Izzy will be working on material for a new project together.

Guns N Roses is currently AXL with a bunch of LA nobodys.

You're only young once, but you can always be immature.

By the way Carter, I haven't heard that Live CD- but I actually heard that AXL over dubbed most of his vocals on it just recently...so it's like a Kiss live album in that regard!

Yup, Kiss is horrible that way. The only one of them who wasn't of the "marketing first" persuasion was Ace Frehley.

I recently read an interview with him in which he was discussing the mixing of the 'Alive 2' album. I guess he had fudged a note on one of his solos. Everyone thought he should retake the whole thing in the studio. He said, "F#ck it, it's Rock and Roll. Leave it in."

Now there's a guy more interested in playing music than selling dolls and bubblegum cards. Can't say the same for his compatriots.

Besides in those situations, a single passing note out of scale can add interest to the whole piece. That's what I always tell myself anyway. ;)

Gotta say despite thinking Appetite is a very complete album for the style that GNR do...im very sick of them

theres songs from the new album on audiogalaxy...more of the same

and if you like GNR i suggest you check out a band called Beautiful Creatures with Joe Leste formerly of Bang Tango singing

Really? Doesn't really sound like it when you have a listen but I'm no expert.

Anyway don't let that deter you , this is one bloody good cd every song is a killer, only 3 cds have been in my CD player the past week (that and System of a Down).

LOL Savatage, that was good stuff to bring up Kiss because the intro has a great Kiss reference.

I've never followed Slash's Snakepit, I saw 1 song a few weeks ago and it rocked! So I'll check it out.

GNR New Album Info, this is the most I could find. (http://www.gnr.simplenet.com/album/ChineseDemocracy.html)

Got appetite for destruction for $8 on cd. Top album. Still trying to find the rest of them. Had them all on tape somewhere.
