Who is the biggest chucker in cricket at present?

Note: Murali cleared by ICC of chucking and had rules changed so that he is now legally allowed to bowl. Not saying one way or the other that should influence your decision!

Shabbir Ahmed - hasn't played international cricket for over 12 months because his action needed urgent remedial work.

Surprised Harbhajan hasn't been mentioned, seeing as he has been successful against Australia in the past. Must be a cheat...

Rubbish ...

Harbhajan is a good bowler and deserves all his success

Murali is a cheating bastard who should have all his records stripped from him. The only reason he is allowed to continue is because the sub-continent controls the ICC.

The tests are not done based on match day conditions. Any chucker can go out there and bowl regulation balls and chuck during matches.

They should check the notorious chuckers by reviewing tapes of their test matches, if they do not chuck then fine, if they do then they should be banned for a period for chucking so they can work on correcting their action, you are not going to correct it playing international cricket.

No wonder you are on a red card.

I used to think it was Murali until I saw Malinga bowl!

Malinga might aswell stand there and pitch it like a baseballer, no run up required! He would make a fantastic Major League Baseballer!

Makes you wonder if anyone in Sri Lanka can bowl with a legitimate action or is everyone there double, triple or quadruple jointed!

Err no actually. Harbhajan's action has been studied and tested recently and has been found to straighten more than Murali's. It's still well within the legal limit. BTW, this is no attack on the Turbanator, who I love as a cricketer.

Malinga doesn't throw, in the conventional sense, he's more of a side arm baseball pitcher, who's action is as weird as all get out, and is nowhere near as bad as either Botha or Murali (a total fraud).

And, BTW Renegade, it's all right snookums have a cry, it's all right, the test series is all over now. That awful man Brett Lee won't hurt your poor English Test Cricketers anymore, go and give your uncle Wayders a big cyber hug:D :D :D :D :D .

Nah, I reckon that Renegade should stay on purely for the comedic value, and the fact that he's consistantlty whining about everything, but then again, when you support teams that are as perenially disappointing as England & Geelong, you would be wanting to cry & sulk 24/7, I know I would.

Renegade should only be allowed to stay on for comedic purposes, we need ppl like them or else the rest of us would be loving each other too much

Murali is the biggest with Aktar not far behind.

Malinga does not throw

Lee use to but his action has been cleaned up enough to be suspect at times along with Flintoff

12th man in the current test against Sth Africa. Kumble is keeping him out of the side when they play on pitches requiring only one spinner. He's still the 2nd choice on spinner's decks.

I think Ruchira Perera gives it more of a chuck than the slinger does.

Err, why is Malinga in that list?

His arm is perfectly straight

How many times has he been tested for "action abnormalities"?

Didn't he used to bowl a doosra equivalent also?

Pretty difficult to throw a with that sort of slinging action.

Anyone got links to video footage of dodgy actions?

Agree with everything, except the part about him staying on.

Mulalri would be have the most suspect action in the present.

All time biggest chucker would have to be Tony Lock and despite having him chucking away merrily the poms still complained about the Leftie from Victoria that would go on to be a sacrifical lamb. .

I used to think it was Murali until I saw Malinga bowl!

Malinga might aswell stand there and pitch it like a baseballer, no run up required! He would make a fantastic Major League Baseballer!

In the last test between NZ and Sri Lanka, the NZ batsmen asked the umpire to wear a white jumper tied around his waist (therefore draping down and covering the top of his black pants), to make it easier to view the ball out of Malinga's hand and down the wicket - so low and roundarm was his delivery action.

The umpire was the SA guy (Jerling) and whoever was umpiring with him had a discussion with him about it - I think the Sri Lankans may have had complained. I didn't see what the outcome was (ie whether Jerling kept wearing the jumper or not).

Umpire Jerling - sightscreen. :D
