Did anyone else catch his speech after the game today? I must say I was very impressed with his maturity level and the way he spoke. Acknowledged the aussies and the retirees very well and spoke of his own team highly. I think he has the support of the players. I admit that tactically he may not be ready to go but that will come. I believe he is the way forward for England and today was a terrific advert for him!

Ooh it's an interesting one, KingRich. I'm sure the team does respect him, but I believe it's too much pressure for a player like him who is both a top line bowler and batsman. As bad a player as I think he is, Vaughan should get the job when he gets back.

In other news, was it just me or did Flintoff not bowl today? Wonder if his ankle was playing up again.

No offence, but I think just about any captain would congratulate the winning team the same way, it's part of their job.

Obviously he had a far worse series than last time, but was it because of injury or because of the pressure of captaincy? He is a very good player at his best and I think he should remain captain. England are going through a bad patch but I think he could be a good captain in the future.
(I hope not though, I'd prefer to have a few more 5-0 Ashes victories) :D

Vaughan has taken back the reigns for the Tri-Series.

As for Freddy, it seemed to me he wasn't enjoying the captaincy .... who would when one's team is receiving hiding after hiding.

Where ever his career leads him to in the English team, good luck to him. I really like him and would have him home as a dinner guest anytime.

Yeah but there are plenty who speak like ********e! Ponting wasn't much chop when he first started. I'm just staying he spoke well, seems to have his head screwed on, seems to have the respect of the players. I just dont think its a bad time to set a new path as Vaughn must be nearing the end.
