I just bought the first two seasons on DVD and am enjoying recapturing the glory days. Anybody else old enough to be a fan of the show? :o

IIRC Dallas was pretty over top.

And IIRC JR got shot just before the Egyptian President or Prime Minister, and in an amazing exercise of cause and effect, the show was pulled from Egyptian TV, blamed for the asassination.

JR is the best TV villian ever IMO. Dallas was pretty over the top but I think that's what I loved about it.

Dallas was over the top but Lurved it - tho went off it for the last 2 series. I always wanted to go to those Southfork Barbeques.

I wouldn't say it made me care less but it was pathetic. They could have brought Bobby back in a way that didn't cause as much disruption to the series.
