View Full Version : Club politics
While club politics might be of much interest to some people, I think that it should be confined to the Blue Room and not out here in the football area.
I honestly would prefer not to have to wade through the political discussions of which mega-rich businessman is going to be better for the club.
While I believe that the club should be led by someone passionate about the club, I also believe that the team is the most important asset of the club and all this in-fighting between cliques around the club is detracting from the team when we should be focussing our support there rather than in the boardroom.
After all, the board is just there to ensure that the club is run as a financial success. But the thing that brings in that success is a good team with solid support from the fans who show up every week and pay their money at the gate to watch the team play...
This year is one of the most exciting years in the past 10 years since the slide began. This year, we have one of the most exciting lists in the competition and while we will not win the flag or possibly even make the finals, we have the chance to finish just outside of the 8.
However this is not going to happen while the club is in turmoil with the various cliques infighting for positions on the board. And it isnt going to help the support of the team we all love if we are concentrating on which high flying mega rich businessman is going to be in charge of the club.
Lets move the political discussion away from this board and into the Blue Room and concentrate about getting excited about the players and not the politics.
i second that, well said.

Wade through?
Wasn't it as simple as read the thread title and ignore?
Now people have to go from the main room to blue room to check for threads that should be on the same board.
The Blue room was suppossed to be about OT subjects for blues fans, and Carlton's politicial situation doesn't fit into this category.
How pathetic is it that something as important as the clubs political future/structure is placed on a board that deals with "harry potter" and "what's your favourite drink".
Bull******** move :thumbsd:
Couldnt agree more.
Obviously what number Fred has on his duffle coat takes precedence.

Agreed.
Threads about Carlton politics should be on the main Carlton board.

Guys if you have an issue, instead of slagging off at each other, PM me about it. I'll generally go the line of least resistance and everything is reversible.
I will remind people not to start their own thread every time they want to bag the board, or else I will have to continue merging threads. In short, these can go back on the main board but please don't make work for us by starting new threads to say basically the same thing.
Cheers
