Guys, lets all pledge our support this upcoming weekend's NFL AFC championship game between the Mighty New England Patriots and the Colts and support the Pats and Tom Brady into another memorable Superbowl.

Fair dinkum, this club, the Pats is full of the character and pride and guts that the Carlton FC of old showed, esp in the late 60's and 70's and 80's etc.
They have an inspirational leader in Brady whose playoff record is an awesome 12-1, and the Pats have never lost an AFC championship game, and they have won 3 Superbowls since 2001.

This is an team for the ages, it is an awe-inspiring dynasty and I'm just lucky that they have given me so much joy over the years, esp since a lot of my other sporting clubs, Carlton, Leeds United, Boston Celtics etc, have fallen on hard times (Red Sox Nation in 2004 was the greatest sporting thrill ever for me though :)

But seriously guys, this New England team displays all the qualities and heart that the Carlton teams showed in those GF's, we were massive underdogs against the Chargers, but somehow we got in and won the game, through sheer heart and determination, and some luck too, but in this life/world you have to make your own luck.

I'm not a big NFL fan, but I love watching it when I can, but blue guys/gals, lets all Unite behind the Pats.

The passion, heart and grit that these underdogs have shown in the playoffs, esp with Tom Brady at the helm, are the kind of spirit that the Carlton of old used to show.

Pledge your support for the Pats to make it another triumph in 2007 ...
This is history in the making, and I have no doubt we'll beat the fancied Colts, even though they beat us twice in the regular season.

COME ON YOU PATS !!!!

If we can get past the Colts i seriously think we can win another SB.

Having said that the Colts spanked us earlier in the season and we may have our work cut out this week.

Go Pats :D

We've beaten Chicago already this season, we can do it again.

Yeah, Green Bay beat Chicago too.

As if we should support the Patriots, the Packers didn't make the playoffs, I don't adopt teams to support like some people do.

I couldn't care less who wins, and I await the off season to see what decision Favre makes on his career, and if he does retire, I wonder if the Packers will pick up a major QB.

Hmmm, not sure about this one. After Dallas fumbled their way out of the playoffs, I don't have a team I like to support.

Chicago are long overdue I guess and show signs of being playoff chokers ... maybe they are the Pies of the NFL. I might be inclined to go for them given their record this season and the huge weight of expectation.

Pats are deffinately like Carlton.

Mass. is a blue blood state, not full of scumbags (like collingwood supporters).

Except David Beckham, when he said that money wasn't a main factor in his decision to go and play soccer in the US...

i mean, if i were earing 2 dollars a second, including when i'm not playing, Money would definately not be a factor - id do it simply for the love of the game...

Toss pot.

Mero, who does footyjumpers.com, is a huge Patriots fan. I'm pretty sure he was running the official Australian Patriots supporters club or something similar. Endorsed by the NE Patriots too. Apparently they sent him a whole lot of gear for absolutely nothing.

When you are already worth $250 million there's a chance it no longer matters.

It then becomes a challenge.

Wifey had alot to do with his decision to go play in the MLS as well. The 320 million to get him there jsut happened to be the deal made. Everyone knows the hype around major sportsmen in the US and this is a coup for them without a doubt.

And i don't think you'd go knocking back that kind of money if it was offered to you either just quietly... You can go play for free while i take the money and have my skin replaced with diamonds ;)

Great effort by the Pats.

In a year when injuries were aplenty they still managed to end up the 3rd best side in the NFL.

If only Carlton could could get back to that level of success and consistency we'd all be much happier.

Go Pats :thumbsu:

San Francisco is the gay town, St Kilda or Sydney boards for the 49er's.
