I ventured into a FANTASTIC music store yesterday that had been recommended to me, and found that i was in heaven.

Purchasing a few Blues cd, a Beach Boy's boxset and the new Ryan Adams cd, i went home.

Listened to the Beach Boys box set last night, but put the Ryan Adams cd on this morning...

How good is this man?????

New York New York is an awesome song, (no, not old Blue Eyes!!)

The rest of this album is fantastic. Great album, I would recommend with a big thumps up :)

If you're keen on Ryan Adams, then have a listen to his previous CD, "Heartbreaker". Not as country-rock as "Gold", but a wonderful album on country laments.

You can go back further to his old Whiskeytown days and get "Pneumonia". It's just brilliant....I think it's better than "Gold".

But if you're still keen on the more rock sounding stuff, try the Pernice Brothers "The World Won't End".

Yeah, a tip though...have a listen before purchasing. Some of his stuff might be too country for your tastes....or you might love it (as I do).

But if you like the alternative-country stuff, you should also check out Mazzy Star. Their first two albums, "She Hangs Brightly" and "So Tonight That I Might See" are amazing.

I'm sorry, I didn't read the thread title properly. I thought there might be some "Summer of '69" happening here. ;)

yes... nice song.. i've downloaded some of his stuff, but havent got around to listening to the rest...

if u like that type of song/music... i recommend another young yank solo guitarist type music... Pete Yorn.. and his fantastic debut album, "musicforthemorningafter"..

just download and sample songs like "For Nancy", "Life on a chain", "Strange condition", "Murray", "Just another"..

not as country as ryan adams, but its kinda similar guitar/bluesy stuff... great voice..
