Hey guys, just wondering if any of you were heading on out to the warped tour in either Mornington or the city? The lineup is looking good and it should be a hell day by all acounts!
Tickets are around 50 - 60 bucks I here... a fair deal for a day of action!
Wanna go but $63.90 is a bit steep. I'll have to wait and see.

After reading your spiel on SOAD, you should love the Warped tour as it will be full of radio friendly punk/pop music that won't challenge your little mind.
ps. loookout for Toe to Toe, they might scare you.

You seem to have miss read my speal on SOAD.
It's all publicity... all they need is one good song mate... just one good song
I was reffering to the need to have one good song to be thrown into the limelight of the music world. I first heard about SOAD in 1998, although I showed little interst in them at the time. It wasn't until Chopsui was released that the mainstream world had even heard of them.... After that, they were being cast as headlining act for the Big Day Out... that just proves what I said. I was never mocking or putting down the talent of the band, mearly commenting on the lack of success of a certain band and a potential reason for it.

In Australia. Theyve been big in America and Europe since their debut....Sugar was a huge hit in America. Most bands get huge in America, and then a few years later get huge here. Examples are Blur....they were huge for baout 9 years in Britain and America before they even had a top 40 hit here (their first hit single in Australia was Song 2...which was 8 years after they had a hit in Britain). Prodigy is another example...they were massive in Britain with their first song they ever released...they were massive in America with the release of No Good (Start The Dance) and Jilted Generation...but didnt get a hit here till Firestarter. Korn is the same....didnt become huge in Australia till Got The Life and FTL.
Australia is basically behind the rest of the world when it comes to music.

Another example is Creed. I remember back in like...early 98 reading Kerrang and Metal Hammer...and they all mentioned Creed as this huge massive band that had just got big in America and their debut album was selling millions and it was the best debut album since blah blah...yet they didnt get big here till last year!!

I take my harshness back. I see where your coming from but a band may still be extremely popular without the 'mainstream' hearing of them.
