Doug Hawkings and Mark Thompson.

Tony Shaw is 1 of the captains I was after. The other hasn't been named yet.
I thought it was Carey & Shaw

The 2nd Captain still hasn't been correctly identified.
The occasion involved a dinner at the Fitzroy Club Hotel for the young Lions players & a few lucky supporters, including myself. Robert Shaw conducted a frank interview with Paul Roos & the 2 opposition Captains about how they made it as AFL footballers & why a lot of their former teammates had not. Shaw probably used some family influence to get his cousin, Tony along. The other Captain seemed genuinely interested in helping the young Lions, but also wanted to learn from the experience himself. He came across as a really good bloke.
