220 runs in 4 hits for the ACT in the Cricket Australia Cup... moved from victoria due to lack of opportunities...

top scored in 3 of those 4 hits, and in the game where he didn't top score he was only 5 runs behind the top scorer... the one thing against him is he bats down the order, he batted at 9 when he made his top score of 87 against an attack headed by Michael Kasprowicz...

averaging 55 in your first 4 games at this level shows the kid can bat... don't think he keeps as well as his brother, but for his age he certainly bats better than him...

he's always been overshadowed by his brother, and i believe hasn't gotten the recognition that he deserves... can anyone see a spot opening up for him at pura cup level in the next couple of years? perhaps NSW when Gilchrist retires and Haddin is playing for Australia?

I'm sure the reason he's made the move interstate this season is to get a chance at state level, particularly with Haddin likely to have international duties very soon. When you look at it NSW and SA are the only two states likely to have wicket-keeping openings for quite a long time as all other states have very promising young keepers.

It's a shame for Victorian cricket but he couldn't be expected to stay here playing 2nds his whole career while his brother played in the 1's.

I definately agree with you devoid, i think it was a great move from him, it has certainly paid off...

i'd just got the feeling in cricket circles that he wasn't really rated all that well, suffering from the expectations placed on him due to his brother... when he played 1sts he batted 11... he's obviously a better player now, i've just got the feeling he's proved a few people wrong, and could become a great player...

He moved before the 2005/06 season to get more rep cricket and looks like it has worked so far.

looks like i've jinxed him, he made a golden duck in the 2nd dig against tassie, just before stumps too...
