Hayden
Jaques
Hodge (would rather not bat him here)
Watson
Voges
Hussey (c)
Haddin
Hogg
Johnson
Bracken
McGrath (vc)

I don't think there is room for White, and I think Shaun Tait should be over there as 12th man (not White), and Tait should play game 2 as McGrath should be rested.

Lee is definately not playing, Haddin wont open, I wouldn't think Clarke would be risked at all.

You have 12 players, is Tait even over there? Hussey wont elevate himself ahead of Hayden, what has Hayden done wrong to be dropped again?

It's very light on with bowlers, I think Tait should be over there, and playing!

Hayden wont get dropped, can't see it happening, Watson has to bat top 4, useless lower than 4, I would rather Hodge at 5, but rather Jaques opening with Hayden should Clarke not play, maybe Voges will bat at #3 or Hussey will bat himself there? Cant see Hogg and White in the same side.

mmmm... perhaps hussey will slot to 3, take punters spot and jaques will open... btw who is VC now? mcgrath? haydos?

:p

I had noticed it but for some reason it didnt let me edit it for a couple of minutes

This is a first for the Aussies, actually having more batting options than required in a small squad

Take out White, add Jaques and that is the squad I think they will use. The order could be anything however.

Agreed it's better off with Hodge below 3, Jaques has batted there before to replace Ponting. Hussey is most valuable as a finisher as well as allowing others a better chance, Watson is best opening where he can build an innings.

I would imagine Pigeon would be VC if Clarke does not play, after that, it would most certaintly have to be Matty Hayden.

I posted my team earlier in the thread, and I haven't changed my opinion, the batting order could be anything however.

M. Hayden [vc]
P. Jaques
M. Hussey [c] / A. Voges / B. Hodge
S. Watson
B. Hodge / A. Voges / M. Hussey [c]
M. Hussey [c] / A. Voges
B. Haddin [wk]
B. Hogg
M. Johnson
N. Bracken
G. McGrath [vc]

Watson
Hayden
Jaques
Hodge
Hussey
Haddin
White (may as well give him another couple of chances to show something before the WC, in case of injuries)
Hogg
Johnson
Bracken
Tait (McGrath needs a rest)

Wow, my side is identical to gillyrulz's. Was unintentional. And is a bit of a worry.

Tait's not over there and i think that leaves them with just the 4 bowlers now Lee is injured

Oh right. Oops.

Well Watson and White will be getting plenty of bowling practice if no-one else gets sent over there.

I take it Clarke's definitely missing then?

Hayden
Jaques
Hodge
Watson
Hussey
Haddin
White
Hogg
Bracken
M Johnson
McGrath

I think they should try Watson at 4 or 5. #7's too low and come the world cup there'll be no room for him in the top 3.
