Just want to know if Ricky Mott is going to make it into the Swans first side for the year.He is a South Freo boy so will not find it hard to relate to your colours.Was unlucky to miss out playing for us in the Grand Final last year.What about Jason Ball how is he going?

Jason Ball has been injured unfortunately as he is probably our #1 ruck choice at the moment. Probably back round 3 or 4?

Ricky Mott has been great. Thrown in at the deep end, he doesn't look entirely out of his depth. Granted, his inexperience shows, but he tries hard and basically is not a bad ruckman!

Due to Ball and Stephen Doyle being injured, Mott is most likely going to be named as first ruck in round one, with Adamn Goodes backing up for him.

Ricky Mott has been a revelation for us so far this year.

After putting up with Greg Staffords soft co(k antics in the ruck for a few years now, let me tell ya its great to have a no-nonsense old fashioned style tap ruckman back in the middle.

He's been beaten by better at times (primus for example) but thats just because the guy is young and still learning.

He's big, he's strong, he's aggressive, he's got stamina, he's trying his guts out there.

He wins his fair share of hit outs - can't ask for anything more at this stage.

With Ball and Stephen Doyle out injured, Mott will be our first choice ruckman going into the season proper.
