View Full Version : Who will be the big improvers in 07? Teams and players
Having seen much speculation (and a whole lot of crap) over who will be premiers in 2007, I thought perhaps we could look at things on a smaller scale and nominate which players or teams you expect to be the big improvers this year.
For what its worth, I believe David Wojinski from Geelong, 18 plus months post reco will be a big improver while Richmond I believe will suprise a few by making finals this year.

I would expect some kids from Hawthorn and Carlton to show something, possibly Weight and Franklin.
I think Essendon will be a lot better this year, they could make the finals.

For my own team i predict we will finish between 6th and 12th.
For improvment of individuals I think the following will be most improved
Polo
Matthew White
Hartigan
Polak
Jay Schulz
Tambling
For the rest of the comp, I think Port Power might suprise everyone and sneak into the 8, Hawthorn will definatley improve but may not be quite ready for finals. As for players to improve from the rest of the comp:
Franklin
Roughead
Farren Ray
Matthew Stokes
Peake (Watch out for him from Freo very good)
Beau Waters
Adam Thompson (Power)
Salopek
Rusling
Hale
Hurn

LOL.
From my club, I'm expecting big improvement from Chris Egan, Sean Rusling, Heath Shaw and Martin Clarke.
Around the AFL, I'm looking out for:
Grant Birchall
Heath Grundy
Jarrad Waite
Brett Peake
Beau Waters
Mitchell Clark
Andrew Raines
Farren Ray
Matthew Bate
Stephen Salopek
Chris Knights
Struggling to think of players (other than the 06 draftees) from Geelong, Essendon, St. Kilda and the Kangaroos, but someone will be able to throw a few up.

Essendon wont surprise anyone and finish last :thumbsu:
I think the Hawks are the team to watch this year. Good young list and could potentially shake a few good sides up.
Really looking forward to watching Leunburger (however you spell it) play, and can't wait to see Gibbs in a game. Enough of the hype, lets get down to business.

West Coast and Chris Judd.
West Coast will struggle. Too much off-field ********e will bring them down. Lack of leadership by the powers that be out west. By the way, is Sampi scoring higher than 10 in the beep test yet?

That would surprise me, I expect the Bombers to push for the eight. The least surprising outcome would be the team who finished bottom the last two years again managing bottom of the ladder.

He is working hard but still doing his "fat bastard" impression.
Feel a bit sorry for the kid actually.

Yeah, that really affected us last year didn't it. A Geelong supporter saying WC will struggle, classic. :o

Dont worry about the saints, you just worry about your joke of a club, even if they finish 16th again which they will, that will still be an improvement, if thats even possible.

You were only one point ahead of the pack last season buddy.
Optimism is a great thing.
But blind arrogance only puts you in a very large group of eagles supporters who need to get a grip on reality.
You already have injury concerns.
Your KPP's stocks are thin.
One of your gun midfielders may be watching the footy from inside Casuarina Prison later this year.
And knob jockeys such as yourself are priming up your team as being nigh on unbeatable.
Stop the monkey spanking and get a grip on something else.
