The new design is horrible. Absolutely atrocious.

I didn't think they could top (bottom?) the last piece of crap they served up to us, but this manages to be so abominably worse it makes me want to punch my laptop.

Thoughts?

It's as if the old editors of 'Crowing' got together and decided to build a website...

Hasn't the dance team been disbanded?

If so why are they still on the current site?

They'll try and make it worse each time it's updated.

disgrace, not even real.

After last season I would've said, "no, it can not possibly get worse" but they have definitely outdone themselves in the ineptness stakes.

I actually like the new live gameday stuff they have there. Runs a bit smoother.

I dont like the font theyve used and the home page is all over the place.

Its gotta be the worst website of any serious sporting league in the world.

OK this site is absolutely rubbish. One of the most pathetic, anger-inducing pieces of crap on the web.

Can't load a single bloody thing, just takes forever even on a standard fast broadband connection and won't even load at busy periods.

Absolute trash.

I hadn't been able to articulate my feelings on the AFL site until now. Thanks for the help. :thumbsu:

At least we dont get that - 'update your flash player' message - or whatever it was, all over the screen atm.

I don't even bother going there anymore. Must the slowest site to load on the web.

I have no problems with the new AFL website - I reckon's it's the best design since the Testra-era.

While I'd admit it can take a moment to load up, it's well worth the wait, and once loaded, is quite quick.

I agree. Compared to the rest of the dribble that has been thrown up the past few years it is an improvement.

Absolutely annoying slow piece of ####. Just to get the team selections is a pain, however I do like the live game day stats. I would prefer a text only verision.

The photo of williams on the injury news page is pretty funny.

Bigfooty gets a mention here!

But fans on a bigfooty.com forum have been venting their spleen since the new site went live. Some fans say it is only a matter of time before they stop going to afl.com.au.

I have the same problems with BOTH sites - AFL and AFC... slow as, and that damned annoying "upgrade your whatever it is that needs upgrading" (which I did TWICE by the way! :o). Hate them both, and to be honest - rarely go to either any more.

I would like to know why people even bother going there at all? If you want news, then sites like this are fine, live scores are available on here too.. it is a rubbish site which I avoid.. I only visit it on Friday arvos to do tips and dream team - and even that is a complete waste of time as I am utter rubbish.

Bad luck if you have a mac and use safari as your browser! Barely any of the site works - player profiles, ladder, fixture...all that comes up are blue scrolling bars. (yes i have firefox, but seriously - no other website I've ever been to has had a problem with safari). :thumbsd: Bad bad bad.

Ah so that's why it sux for me too!

I have the best of both worlds. I loaded a program called Parallels, which then allows you to download Windows on your imac.

Having said that the AFL site is still shyte slow anyway. For some reason the AFC site loads faster on Safari for me but still has the blue scrolling bars and doens't let you see inside. I'm only interested in the main stories anyway.

Hardly bother going to afl.com.au anymore. Takes too long to load and i don't see there as being that much news on there that I don't already know from reading newspapers and watching televsion news.

This $#$%$##$ site is unusable. What other organisation would let one of their primary sources of information degrade so badly.
Demetriou and Anderson are really intent on turning this whole organisation and competition into amateur hour. Since the 700 odd mill TV deal, they've become complacent. Resting on their laurels.
The umpiring is atrocious ( almost unwatchable at times ), the tribuinal is a farce and lacks any form of consistency and their drug policy is laughable.

Time for a change.
