Any Taswegian gurus here ???
I want to know what the major league(s) in Tassie currently is/are, last year's premiers and medallist from each, and what those medals are each called, now that there is no single statewide league.
Anyone ?

The TFL was mainly based in the south. It started expanding and collecting teams that joined from the north. The TFL was then renamed the Statewide FL (or something like that).
Then teams started dropping out of it (apparently it was managed very badly). Northern teams were going back to northern leagues (mainly NTFL) and southern teams were running to the SFL (hopefully the acronyms are self-expl., just think the most logical).
Now the two strongest are the NTFL and the SFL.
Also visit mcollas ezboard (there's a link to it on my own ezboard - see link below) which is full of Tassie footyheads.

Mud,
Football Tasmania publish a magazine called Football Life. The last edition of 2001 published all the info you require. As soon as I find my copy, I will post the info here. I have to work this arvo, so it may not be until tomorrow.

The NTFL medal is the Darrell Baldock medal
The William Leitch medal was the medal for the TFL B &F and is now the medal for the Tassie Devils B & F. Last years winner was Leigh Walker.
The Mariners B& F medal is the Davidson medal and was won by Kane Richter.
