Will they ever become a decent side?
I used to live there back in 1995 and noticed that they ARE as enthusiastic as India are so...

Cricket is their #1 sport so there's no doubt they will get better. A classic example is Sri Lanka, It took them 10-15 years to come good and now they are one of the best teams in the world.

Sri Lanka improved. I can remember when they where the flogging stick of everyone in the mid 80s.

There is even hope for Zimbabwe.

I have no doubt that Bangladesh will improve as they gain more experience against the better teams in the world. They are passionate about their cricket over there, so as long as the right steps are taken at junior level to encourage the kids to play, it will only be a matter of time before they become a quality team.

Cheers!! :)

The biggest problem with Bangladesh cricket, aside from widespread poverty and annual flooding, is that their pitches are essentially just rolled mud, gentle to bat on with slow pace with low bounce.

Because any bounce is alien to them, their technique is awful, they just can not get onto the front foot, and hover around the crease or play back to every delivery.

From what I saw about 2-3 of them have a future in the game, you could see they have that extra bit of hand-eye co-ordination that allows them to survive and contribute just that while longer than the rest.

It is going to be a steep learning curve, and until then their batsmen are going to be a shooting gallery for opposition bowlers.
