I think you'll be disappointed with the response to this poll.

Sorry, Angus is a nice bloke and terrific player, love to have him at the Blues, but Murph wins this one by the length of Russia.

ouch, this isn't gonna be good for Angus.

Murphy will end up being a class above, just a brilliant footballer. Monfries is as brave as they come but he's fighting out of his weight division in this contest.

I cannot believe some people actually voted for Monfries. Even voting for him as a troll is pathetic.

I felt the same way about those voting for Betts over Davey, but there you go. :p

Mofries will be a very good player-that's for sure.

Murphy will be a star-a class above Monfries.

Is anyone going to own up to choosing Monfries over Murph? :)

Murphy will be better. But I like the way Angus goes about it, hes a Gary Odonell clone. Hes one of the only essendon players I enjoy watching.

I have do admit I didn't anticipate Murph getting so good when we drafted him in 2005. But he just keeps taking his game to a new level everytime he plays. You won't appreciate how good he is by reading stat sheets, you really need to watch this guy play. Yesterday he put his body on the line, and got absolutely crunched by the much bigger Fletcher. Just picked himself off the deck, no remonstrating, and got on with it. A real pro. Soon after he layed some turn-over creating tackles. And some of his heavy traffic possessions were breathtaking. His most outstanding attribute, and something I noticed even in his first few games, is how brilliant his execution is even under extreme pressure. This is something that he has obviously worked on for a long while. Very hard to push him off his kick. Skills are brilliant. He also is an incredible reader of the play - knows exactly where to position himself, and has sensational anticipation. His only weakness is that he's just a bit too team-oriented at times, and could have kicked a few himself rather than delivering too others. Watching Fev's 2006 highlight package, it was amazing how many times Murph was involved. But not only is he a star on the field, he a is a star off it as well. Murph is just pure class. :)

As much as I rate Angus (he put me on his top friends on MySpace)

Murphy is going to be a much better player

Angus is a great up and coming player, will be a very solid player. But Marc murphy went at no 1 for a reason. He will be a fantastic player if not allready

I haven't voted either way, but i know people will say im biased when i say that Monfries does have the potential to be as good as Ben Cousins. Will watch both these guys developement over the year with intrest. Monfries kicked 22 goals last year (his second season) will be interesting to see if he can equal it or better it while playing more on the ball this year. BTW although im pumping Monfries up i do rate Murphy quite highly.

I would pick out Gussy over my players going round but Marc is a freak, i believe he will be the Carlton captain and go on to special things. Monfries is a fine player, will be a very well respected and be a star for our club but Murph takes it.

Murphy.

But the real dissapointment is that we could have both.

At this stage clearly - Monfries > J. Russell (same draft)

Monfries will be a 200 + game player.

Marc Murphy - look out AFL.

Both players are fantastic to watch. Monfries is my favourite player at Essendon but Murphy is a class above at this point.

You are not doing Monfries justice. He is good, but I had to vote for Murphy.

Maybe last year. Not so sure this year. I'd prefer Russell actually - looks like being a star. :)

Monfries is one of my more favourite (non-Carlton) players - exciting and very talented, likely to be a very good player in his own right. But everytime I watch Murphy play, and more specifically touch the ball, I can't help smiling. Will be a champion.
