OK - looks good to me. Start a comp, to occupy our interest til the world cup starts. Give the 7 coaches time to choose their best XIs.

Does a players average impact how good they'll go? I'm not sure how the program works it all out but it sounds pretty thorough.

Yes, the players average impact how they perform on the sim.

So, the player who has Porterfield and ten Doeschate will want them in their XI, because they have far better averages than anyone else (besides Mike Hussey).

I think the sim is quite accurate, and this should be fun. I am about to organise the two groups. Bare with me, and I'll start an official World Cup Simulation Thread, then we'll get the games underway when we have everyone's XI.

The sim also lets a pitch be selected, for this (I'll select all random pitches, so I don't know what pitch will be selected), I think that's fair.

Howd you get this sim?

Give me a few mins, and I'll get the link for you.

If you've got a new computer, it probably wont run, as it only runs on my old one, and not my new one.

But just hold tight.
