The boy had so much talent, a definite loss to the cricket world :(
It's always a tragedy when they die young.
He was a very distant relative of mine so yeah that's really sad news.

Rest in Peace Ben.
This is a tragic loss.
:(
Rest in peace mate. :(
I heard a car accident yesterday (I live in South Perth) and sirens but I didn't know who it was that was involved and I certainly didn't know that someone died. :( :(
Sad sad loss...

Sad loss for cricket today. :(
Ben was playing grade cricket with South Perth this summer and was to rejoin the English squad next week. In the test between New Zealand and England they had a minute's silence in tribute to him.
A Pom by bat and ball, but an Aussie at heart.

Ben's untimely death didn't become known until after they were well into the mornings play.
During lunch they lowered all the New Zealand and English flags to half mast, and both teams came back out wearing black arm bands.
A minute's silence will happen tomorrow before the start of play.
pity about his death..
but to say he was a talented cricketeer is going too far, he was average at best.
Huge shock, what a terrible thing for his folks to witness too.

Obviously it is sad when any young sportsman die. I dont want to sound bad here but he was speeding. Speed kills.

Stunned me when Bob Willis announced it on the Test commentary on Friday evening. Still stunned the following day.
He certainly did have a huge amount of talent as a batsman and was showing signs of starting to harness it.
All the reports I've heard say he wasn't speeding (he'd just passed an unmarked police car, the occupants of which saw no problem) and it would seem drink wasn't involved.
As a Surrey supporter it is a huge blow to the County but that pales into insignificance next to the feelings of his family and close friends.
Just hope his girlfriend pulls through.

Yeah huge shock. I met Ben a few years ago, lovely guy and we're the same age so it's like a massive shock to me. :(
And he's a huge loss to the England side. :(
