(Before you start reading let me assure you that this is not a money making exercise. 100% of entry fees are paid out as prizes. In fact, I lose money on this, as I have to maintain the entry fees in a bank account and surprise, surprise, banks wont do that for nothing!)
Russian has kindly allowed me to post this to invite all of you in to a couple of World Cup competitions I am running. So a big thanks to him.
There seems to be plenty of people here that know a lot about cricket, so it will be interesting to see how the BigFooty/cricket crew perform.
I'll bump this a couple of times between now and next week, as with all the practice games its going to sit a little down off the top of the page.
----------------------------------------
The ICC World Cup of Cricket is nearly upon us, and as I have done for the previous 3, I am running two fantasy competitions. These have proven very popular in the past, and for the first time I am opening it up to the general public to a limited extent by including those here. Last time around I had in excess of 100 entries so I’m expecting that to be smashed this time.
There are two competitions – the Simple Competition and the Complex Competition.
In the Simple Competition participants are required to select players from various pre-selected groups of players of similar ability. The scoring system is simple – runs, wickets, catches, run outs, milestones etc. Entry is $5.
The Complex Competition requires entrants to select 15 players who have each been given a value subject to a salary cap. Scoring is as per the Simple Competition except that players also receive bonus points for batting quickly or bowling economically, and are penalised for slow batting and uneconomical bowling. Entry is $10
Other Information
All entries must be received by the start of the tournament, which is Tuesday 13 March.
All entry fees must be paid by this time.
You may enter as many times as you like, and can invite anyone you like to enter.
There will be an opportunity to make 3 changes to your team at a predetermined point in the tournament.
Prizes can not be determined until all entries are received, but 100% of entry fees will be paid out. This is not a profit making exercise, just a labour of love.
What to do? Email me at statsman1974@yahoo.com.au, and I’ll send you the spreadsheet that contains the entry form to each competition and the full list of rules/FAQ.
Regards
