According to the My Man Thread (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291068), it looks like JohnD will be one of the posters responsible for looking after Thurgood for us this season.
Take it away, John!

Hawks losing winning Chance
April 13, 2007
HAWTHORN midfield player Chance Bateman will miss the AFL round three match against the Kangaroos at Telstra Dome on Sunday afternoon because of thigh soreness.
Bateman was named in an expanded squad but pulled up sore after yesterday's training session.
He has been replaced in the Hawks squad by tall utility Josh Thurgood.
Hawthorn will finalise its side tonight.

surely must be delisted AND NOT redrafted by the hawks. Waste of a decent number too.

I think Josh Thurgood is a really good player. He goes hard at the ball. always has a go. He might be of slight build but do we remember a guy by the name of Michael Tuck you dont have to be huge to play footy. Give the kid a go delisting someone and re drafting him means he must have really shown something in the pre season have some faith in our selectors!!

News
The Hawthorn Football Club has announced the delisting of Matt Little and Josh Thurgood from their senior list.
Little and Thurgood join retirees Ben Dixon, Joel Smith and retiring captain Richie Vandenberg on exiting the Club.
Matt Little played in one senior game for the Hawks in round 16 of the 2007 season and despite performing well at VFL level for the Box Hill Hawks was unable to maintain a spot in Alastair Clarkson’s senior Hawthorn side. Little was leading goal kicker for the Hawks’ VFL affiliate club, kicking 35 goals in 17 games.
Josh Thurgood also performed admirably for the Box Hill Hawks and was amongst their better players in 2007, coming third in their Club Champion award. Thurgood had been given a second chance by the Hawthorn coaching staff in 2007, having been delisted the previous session, but picked up again in the AFL pre-season draft.
The Club has not yet made a decision regarding its Rookie listed players and is likely to finalise their position before the end of the month.

Excuse me?
What because of his hair or his svelte like physique?

Thanks man, hopefully we have him at Box Hill for at least 100 games. I remember noticing him running around for BH and Donald McDonald, prior to Hawthorn recruiting him, and he can "own" VFL level, even Liston Trophy material. Josh, if you do read this forum stuff, City Oval needs you.
