The question itself isnt half bad.

The part where he included Harwood and McDonald was crap though.

Hodge - definitely
White - maybe
Hussey - 2% chance given late season form.

They are the only 3 names that deserve to get mentioned re.Victoria at the national selection table ATM.

Hodge White Hussey II Why wouldn't Hussey II be a chance for a contract. He's a gun in both forms of the game. Name 3 players who aren't in the test team that will get a batting contract ahead of him? Voges, Rogers, Jacques ??? McDonald for a contract - HA HA HA...

Hodge, White are about 80% chance.

Harwood 15%

Hussey about 10%

Lewis 10%

McDonald 2%

Too many allrounders for Macca to make it.

just hodge and white

Oh When the Saints
12 Mar 2007, 09:26
Definitely Hodge
You would think Cam White too

McDonald an outside chance ... one of only 4 players to do the 25/750 double in First Class cricket ... has to be a chance.

David Hussey ... probably too many in front of him

Give yourself an uppercut pal thats about the level of senseless tripe we'd expect from bushranger.

Hodge a definite, White was tipped as Symonds' replacement so they're obviously not going to leave him out, Harwood has been good and seems in the selectors' sights but there's a long list of fast bowlers ahead of him, McDonald would have to be very lucky, Hussey far too inconsistent, was close to being dropped from the Vics 4-day side earlier in the year, Lewis no chance.

Just thought of something, with Hussey's great form late of the Aussie season, he still plays County in Cricket! So, he might be am outside chance if he impresses ;)

Harwood- 5%, possibly I doubt it
Hussey- 25%, depends on who the current batsmen. Voges will get 1 of the spots and so will Chris Rogers. depends how many spots are left.

Lewis- NO, NO and NO...0%

McDonald- On half decent season and he gets a contract?:thumbsd:

So what..one half decent season does not equal a contract and that is even allowing for the fact that MacDonald was not the best player this year!

Hodge and White are definites and that is all.

If McDonald starts next season strongly he may find himself on the list of possible replacements for Watson / Symonds / White.

As much as I admire him, that's how far away he is.

Hussey's in a similar situation, but possibly in next couple of OD batsmen on the reserve list - just behind Voges and Jaques - but ahead of the likes of fatty Cosgrove.

And the fast bowlers are no chance.
