View Full Version : Herald Sun writers think we are très ordinaire

In the Hun's guide on Saturday 5 out of 14 'experts' picked us to make the 8. I thought that was an extraordinarily low number when you think about it. Our odds to make the 8 were listed as $1.45, which means that (taking into account betting deductions) we have about a 65% chance of making the finals. So someone is way off the mark, I just hope it is the Herald sun writers and not the bookies.

Interestingly, Collingwood were picked by 12 of the 14 writers to make the 8 (including Carlton's no.1 fan Mike Sheahan picking the Pies to make the top 4), yet their odds were $1.85. Can you believe it? 5 picked Carlton and 12 picked Collingwood. It seems no one wants to know about us this year. I hope we show em' though.

P.S. If you saw my thread about Carlton and getting the spoon....I don't really think we have a realistic chance of snaring it, so don't think I am one of those fans who think we are doomed. I see no reason why we can't slip into the lower regions of the final 8.

If we make the finals again this year I will be sure to shout it from the rooftops this time. I'm not waiting for the doomsayers to come out of the woodwork one year and say "See, I told you the Blues would miss the 8." Especially after they have said it for several seasons running and been wrong.

Boys, over at the Crows we know exactly how you feel :) No one gives us much of a chance either, but I wouldn't be overly worried, pre-season predictions mean crap all and when we make the finals again ;) it will be all the sweeter (Stick that up your arse Russell Greene, Robert Walls, Mike Sheahan, etc :D )

Interestingly, in the Age, all of their experts picked either us or the Blues as their team on the slide..... :D And they get paid for these opinions
