How do you rate this film? I've heard some people say it's a feminist film. Personally, I think it's misogynist. What she does is low and contemptible. No one deserves to be treated like that. :thumbsd:

Sick bloody film, bloody thrilling stuff though.

I started a thread on this a year or so ago. It's there somewhere!\

I loved it. On second viewing it bored me a little, but my g/f (we are both in our mid-forties) loved it (she's a psychologist).

I think it's neither mysoginistic (?) or feminist. Paints both main characters as fundamentally flawed. She's a friggin' fruitcake and he's taken her for granted. Overall, though, I think the woman comes off looking far worse.

Interestingly, the screenplay is written by a bloke.

I enjoyed it, but thought it kinda lost it towards the end where it tried to be a bit thrilling. I thought that really let it down and didn't suit the film at all.

Big fan, not quite as novel as I was hoping but director Rolf de Heer sure does "go there" when he makes a movie. Kind of misogynist, but only in a vengeful way, and she only hated HIM, and she had some fair cause.

JMO

I want de Heer to get the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant job, 'cause you just know he's gonna want to cast a real leper!

Loved it, but as a dad the ending just ripped my guts out.
