View Full Version : Aussies grouped with poms and zimbos in 20/20 World Cup
The groups for the championships were announced on Sunday. There are four groups of three teams each, with the top two teams in each group going through to the Super Eights.
South Africa, the West Indies and Bangladesh are in Group A; Australia, England and Zimbabwe in Group B; New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Kenya in Group C; and Pakistan, India and Scotland in Group D.
The matches will be played at Newlands in Cape Town, Kingsmead in Durban and the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
There will be two rounds of warm-up games on Saturday September 8 and Sunday September 9.
The opening match will be played on September 11 and the final on September 24 - Heritage Day,
A final fixture list is expected to be released before the end of March, and tickets will go on sale in April
I hope England send a T20 team rather than a OD team, we should do well as we have been playing it longest but we won't... They won't have the guts to send the likes of Loye, Maddy Doshi ETC.

Hope we send some young kids who have done well in the FRC and 20/20 Big Bash.

Is it just the top team that qualifies from each group???
Or are they going to make it a real money maker by saying the top 2 qualify to make extra games??

If we don't play most of our Test & ODI Players we're a fair chance of winning this tourney. The cream of the Twenty20 Cup should fill most of the squad if the selectors have any brains - Maddy would be a good start. Would be a good reward for joining a proper team like Warwickshire as well.:D
