View Full Version : Everitt v Cox
At their BEST, no injuries etc... who is the better ruckman?
*Age should not be a factor, i'm talking overall.
Everitt is a lot older and has dominated for longer.
I voted for Cox :D

Rubbish, Cox can only get better.... Even now Cox is better than Everitt, imagine in a few years time.

Clearly Spida, never seen Cox kick 10 goals in a game at full forward. Plus I'd have had to think you'd have to be the best ruckman in the comp at some stage to be mentioned in this question. Maybe Simon Madden v Everitt is the better question? I vote Simon Madden.

everitt - slightly better ruck work but Cox is better at the same age and just continues to improve. Lade better than both tho.
Around the ground - Cox by a fair way, disposal ect is all far better
forward line - Everitt is a better forward than Cox
Character - Cox by a long way
if they were playing head to head, cox would win
if we are talking overall then Spida probably has the edge
hard to compare since Everitt is a very experience ruck and Cox has really only been quality for 2 1/2 seasons.
Cox probably has the more upside to surpass everitt

At their best so far, Everitt. However Cox does have the time to get better.

Everitt by a mile.
I cannot believe how unfairly rated Spider is. At 33 he is still better than Cox on his day and Cox is in his prime.
Cox is a great ruckmen, but Everitt is a champion.

So how is it that Cox has pantsed him in every duel they've had?

This poll is unfair on Everrit because his best years are not much more than a memory, whereas Cox's great 2006 is fresh in our minds. Everrit is still very good, and IMO was better in his prime than Cox is now. Cox will probably achieve that level soon however.
Everrit for me, at this stage

Sure. I just thought the 'easily' part of your post suggested ignorance in relation to Everitt's career.

Nah it's called being biased ;)
Coxy can weave some magic as well as Spida. Useful having that extra midfielder and the ground though lol. Spida was great and coxy will one day be remembered that way as well. Personally I think its a bit unfair on Cox to be rated against a consistent champion. No doubt he will be up there one day but give it a few years of consistency first.

Thankfully, a sensible reply.

On the field Everitt. Off field Cox (unless he is another WC drug taker, but I'm betting he is clean).
Andrejs Everitt has much more upside than ex-player Simon Cox :D
