A sub-forum has been set up for all designated reporters to follow the progress of their designated players throughout season 2007.

I'm sure we can all pitch in with pic and stats
I was concerned about the sub-forum looking out of whack but the reporters have done a stirling job so far and it looks like a million bucks.

When giving the player a mark out of 10 is there like a guide e.g
0 did nothing
5 average
10 judd like or somthing
just so we dont give our players an over estimation.

At the end of the day it is your call bearing in mind you will rate the same bloke every week. I suspect 8/10 for Wells would be different to 8/10 for Watt. However people will quickly adapt to your rating criteria and will at the very least be able to compare the one player from round to round.
Personally, I will look at my player in a Syd Barker sense rather than a Brownlow sense if that makes sense :p

While we're on that subject... are these player threads open to other posters to add thier 2c worth with questioning the rating??? And I trust we're still going with the 5-1 voting system? where those 2c worth of comments should sit ? Of course the threads are open to discussion, this is the main purpose of it. I think people can get bogged down with ratings, I think the comments and summary will be more important.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion! That said, I read with interest while I was overseas last week some of the abuse being hurled around this place. I don't want to open a can of worms (just yet) but there are ways of disagreeing and this type of discussion would be awesome in those threads. e.g.
Designated reporter: "I think Leroy was great and he has a cute butt 9/10"
Response: "I think he was very ordinary and his game warrants 2/10"
Noting only the designated reporters score will 'stick'
The 5-1 will still go on as usual. It is my preference (and not a rule in anyway) that only votes be cast in the votes thread. I'm sure there will be match threads and then there will be the sub forums for individual players.

If you had a player last year and made regular updates - I suppose it makes sense you carry on looking after 'your player' again in 2008. If you didn't - they can go back into the pool/draft for a regular poster to pick up and look after.
New players added this year include: Nathan Thompson, Sam Power, Nathan Grima, Levi Greenwood, Robbie Tarrant, Ben Davies, Scott Thompson, Alan Obst, Josh Smith, James Wilsen, Cruize Garlett & Michael Wundke.
If you want to 'give up' your player add his name to the list.

I shouldn't be putting my hand up for this as I am a very busy at work and home (read - lazy Michael Hunt).

It's interesting that the player who has had the most 'views' in the player watch forum is Shannon Watt (3150).
Second is Matty Campbell (2752) ahead of Gav Urquhart (2568).
Lachlan Hansen has had 1974 views whereas Wellsy has had 957.
Of course some players get discussed heavily on the main NMK forum so the numbers are not a reflection of the players importance/popularity. However, the numbers do suggest that a good discussion on lesser known players can be prompted by regular use of the sub-forum.
