Josh Gibson - The powerful left-footer was on the Roos' rookie list in 2004 before being promoted to the senior list in 2005. Gibson played only 10 games last year.

Slight chance for this week, but I'd probably give him another week

Round 3 review

Well I guess it can best be described as a mediocre first game back for Gibo. Didn’t look as composed with the ball in his hands as he did in the pre-season. But I guess that could be due to the poor game plan or scrappiness of the game. Defensively he looked okay.

After missing 3 weeks at least he seemed well over the injury and hopefully he’ll continue to improve from here and get back to the preseason form where he was one the most improved and consistent performers.

Fair points. Personally, I'd give Gibbo 4/10 for Sunday's game.

Is it just me, or does he look slow when he's tackled. Seems to take an eternity to dispose of the ball, and is slung around in the tackle. He needs to get rid of it more quickly, or will get caught holding the ball in the backline.

Round 5 review

Very good all-round game from Gibson on Sunday. Although Nathan Ablet isn't exactly a big scalp he still took him out of the game and got a bit of the ball himself.

His decision making when he has the ball in his hands still has to improve. He was caught with the ball. I don't think that it means he doesn’t have a clue more like he feels confident enough that he can hold onto it long enough and still be able to get the ball off to a team-mate. He does have slick hands and has been responsible for some great handpass through traffic coming out of defence.

Round 6 review

A mixed game for Gibbo this week. Again he looked a little lost with the ball in his hands, particular early in the first quarter. He did get better as the game went on. He does have the weapons, he has a beautiful kick but just doesn’t know how to get the most out of it.

Defensively he easily held O'loughlin for most of the game. And then the highlight, late in the game when Spud started to get run over by Hall, Gibbo was moved on to him and in 2 key contest inside forward 50 he beat Hall hands down. He does get to every contest and doesn’t get beaten too often.

If he can work on his game with the ball in his hand he could be a complete package.
