Ed Lower - Missed out on selection in the 2005 NAB AFL Draft but was thrown a lifeline by the Kangaroos and put on their rookie list. The defender was elevated off the rookie list for the game against Adelaide in round 16 last year and now finds himself on the senior list for this season.

Apparently wasnt in it much, only played the last half of the game.

When he did get it, he used it.

Thats all for today.

Yeah, maybe we should be known as The North Melbourne Life-Saving Club with the number of life-lines we throw to players who were overlooked by other clubs???

LOL . He needs to get familiar with the fast game quicker but so far in his couple of games has been impressive.

Was one of your best yesterday. I can only hope his brother who we picked before Ed turns out to be as good. Nick Lower may end up playing this week as replacement for the heart and soul of Port, Wilson. It'd be his first game for the year in a GF and if he can show what Ed did then we'll go a long way towards winning

How's he going this year? playing well in the trials? Im interested for two reasons, one because he was selected well after his twin at port, and two im thinking of putting him in my dream team.

Put him in, set for a break out year. One of those guys that could be anything, maybe nothing. Low profile pre season so not sure where he's at at the mo, but probably good value.

I've heard thru the grapevine that Ed won't be available for the first two games of the season. Has been suspended (??). Must have been during a praccie game for the roosters. Apparently he initially got 4 weeks but it was appealed by the club down to two.

18th March 2008, 13:11
He appealed a two match suspension for front on contact and had the sentence reduced to a week as reported on the VFL website.

Ed lives!

Good to see him in against the Pies, but was torn a new poop shooter by Medhurst for 2 & a half quaters but in all honesty Medhurst was seriously on for most of the night.

Great to see JYD show some faith in Ed's ability and left him on, threw him forward and was rewarded with a crucial last quater goal.:thumbsu:

Now you can only hope JYD doesn't drop him. A few games strung together and this bloke could really step up.

Have to agree - give the boy a few games to thrive and survive. GO ED

Confidence is an amazing thing and he must have been really struggling after Medhurst cut him up in 5 minute patch.

Great to see him bounce back in the last quarter and will really like to see him be given another go this week

Faith has been rewarded with Ed giving the All Australian captain in Mcleod a very good run for his money on Saturday night at The Graveyard.

Where are you CrazyQ anyway, gone on the dole or something?

Ed Lower is a very impressive young bloke.

I was lucky enough to be at the sponsors dinner, and without knowing his onfield leadership qualities, if the lad can keep it together on the field, I can see him as a future captain.

Very nice bloke.
