View Full Version : I am sorry for doubting you Hoggy
I admit I was on the bandwagon thought the man had lost it and didn't deserve to go the caribean, but for me he has so far been the player of the world cup and makes the aussie side look unbeatable.
Watching him bowl his wrong-un was at times mesmerising last night

George has done well. No doubt he will bamboozle the Windies batsmen with that wrong un.
I just think he has been the player of the world cup for Aus so far as we desperately need a spinner to win this thing

I stayed on his bandwagon.
He's our best ODI spinner by a long way.

Not suprisingly, a lot of people are eating a large chunk of humble pie at the moment and won't admit they were wrong
Hogg is currently the equal highest wicket taker in the tournament so far
I've always been a staunch Hogg supporter, and watching all you idiots writing him off before the world cup was ridiculous.
Like kane249 said, time to eat some humble pie, morons.

Hoggy! Gun, always on the bangwagon, he was really out of form when brought back into the side, because of all the time he spent on the sidelines in the CB series, now he's got some games under his belt, he's on fire

I don't see it that way.
He was still bowling well and his wrong un was especially good in his wicketless games. Too good. And it still is too good. Beats the bat so often.
So many edges just fell short, he had a few chances dropped, and mi****s were still going for boundaries.

Well, I can see where you are coming from, but after a extended lay off, which wasn't deserved... when he came back into the side, he wasn't bowling as good as he is now. While he still may have been bowling "decent", it was just wasn't up to his usual standards, which is why so many people were harsh on him, he's a premier spinner in ODI cricket, and most of us knew he would eventually come good. He's bowling superb as of late, and he has been our best bowler in the World Cup, while Hayden has been the best batsman!
Great to see him doing the biz again. When on song he is a gun.

I think you are wrong there. Stat watching perhaps?
Go look through the video archive, you will see just how well he was actually bowling.
