The 1977 Grand Final was only the second drawn Grand Final in the league's history. Collingwood had held North Melbourne goalless during the second and third quarters, but the Kangaroos overturned a 27 point lead to take the lead. Ross "Twiggy" Dunne marked and goaled for Collingwood to tie the scores in the last minute of play. Both teams would have to return a week later for a rematch.

It was the first time that any live bame of football was telecased in Melbourne. Ch 7 reportedly paying the league $100,000 for the privalage.

Damn i'm old I remember that very well even though I was a young kid.I wonder how many people are still alive that went to that GF?.
