Joel Reynolds
ACL done during pre-season match (details?). Out for season (and probably forever).

Max Rooke
hammy or groin, the annus horribilis continues as his injury in the swans match will see him miss at least four weeks. Maybe he will come good for the finals

Jimmy Bartel
Broken arm, trapped nerve, concussion, bad reaction, attacked by grizzly bear. The swans match is one to forget for Jimmy, which he possbly already has. Will be out anywhere from a couple of days to a career ending injury

Cameron Ling
Whacked by the ugly stick - career ending (in fashion). Jaw issue? Test but should be fine

Nathan Djerrkura quad strain, struggled for a while with this. Listed as one week, but they don't say which. Might as well write-off any chance of a senior call-up this year

Tom Harley hanstring - should be ok

Joel Selwood Took some heavy knocks against swans and while he fished the match, their remains a question mark ? <-----

Andrew Mackie KNock to the knee, unless swelling kicks in, he should be right

Steven King Knee op to remove some cartilage. Could of held off, but may have struggled. 4-6 weeks off plus come back though the twos. Wouldn't expect to see him back in the ones till round 17, if he comes back at all.

This purpose of this thread is to list injuries. The first post in this thread will kept current and updated by the mods. Subsequent posts can be used to inform of new injuries or the status of current ones and will be used to update the first thread.

I defy anyone to find an injury list on the gfc.com.au site!

A friend of mine was saying that he had heard from a club official that Paul Chapman, who has been listed as having 'back soreness' is suffereing from sciatic nerve problems. Any confirmation on this, or is it just another beat up like the GAJ OP stories?

If Reynolds is out for good - and that seems to be the case, unfortunately - who replaces him?

Gee we'll have to trade and draft well in order to cover his loss ...

Cynic !! Is that a shot at our flawless recruiting staff ?
Most rookies do not get a look-in. I doubted that he would, despite the wraps we heard.
Seriously, are we then allowed a replacement rookie? And don't say Reynolds could never be replaced because he is a Reynolds.

Hope David Johnson doesn't come through.
Selwood doesn't deserve to be dropped after his great performance against Carlton.

He was ordinary. Made to look good by the rest of the team. Plus, Tenace would come in for DJ.

Can someone explain to me how Jarrad became Max? and when?

hotdog_hotdog
16 Apr 2007, 15:25
I'm pretty sure Max is his middle name, and he scrapped Jarad!

ash_hughes29
16 Apr 2007, 22:14
"...Twenty-four-year-old Jarad Rooke, who has developed as a courageous run-with player since joining the Cats from Casterton in 2002 and has now played 84 games, including 17 this year, is no longer listed in Geelong or AFL records as Jarad — officially he is now Max Rooke. And the reason is simple — not only was he becoming increasingly annoyed with people invariably misspelling Jarad but he had grown fond of Max as Maxwell is his middle name and both of his grandfathers are also Max. "My granddad on my mother's side had Max as his middle name like me but everyone knew him as Max so there's a bit of history about what I've done," Rooke explained..."

What's the word with Hunt (of the Sam variety)?

Missed the last few VFL games, if I'm correct - might be one of the stiff few to miss out come Sunday.
