There is a program called TVU player which livestreams channels from around the world. On some occassions it streams Channel 10 but it is not always up there. So you might be able to watch a few games during the season on there.

Damned if I can find it, but how do I register at AFL.com.au for an international subscription. I've googled it, trolled the site itself...nothing.
a link would be appreciated.

I missed the Essendon Vs Adelaide from AAMI Stadium on Sunday because i don't have foxtel. When I set out to watch the replay on www.afl.com.au it says I need to be subscribed to Big Pond. I also missed the Carlton Vs Essendon game (NAB Rd. 1) but managed to download it through Bitorrent.
Any feedback??
Cheers

There's also this (http://livesportson.tv/) website which I have been using to watch cricket. They recently added an Australian Rules link but don't have any games attached to it yet. I sent them an email asking if they ever would and am waiting for a reply now. If anyone else is interested the more emails they get the more likely they are to carry it... hint hint ;)

I hope TVU doesn't have a virus, because i just downloaded it. Can you tell me if it's worth the download or not?

I strongly suggest not to get TVU. It's a load of crap 15 of the 30 channels are chinese, there only cartoons on it(Cartoon Network, Family Guy TV, DragonBall TV(These are the best)). Nothing else that's worth watching.
I'm going to get Sopcast if you guys think it's good.

Does anyone know if these (1 (http://wormy570.ipodpsp.hop.clickbank.net/), 2 (http://wormy570.satsoft.hop.clickbank.net/), 3 (http://wormy570.inetsoft.hop.clickbank.net/)) contain any AFL footy channels. 3000+ channels I'd say there's a good chance... but I don't wanna take the risk.

I just bought the basic package and it has:
ABC
ACC (Australian christian channel) :(
Bigpond (whatever that is? I didn't know bigpong had a channel? All it's been playing is music)
Bloomberg Australia
Nine
Sky News
TVSN
Seems like a reliable program with good quality... just having the right channels is the issue.
If anyone buys the higher package and it has 7, 10 or Fox Sports can you let me know? Thanks.

Maybe you need a faster internet connection? It loads in about 10-20 seconds for me after I click forward to skip the junk at the start of each game.

Perhaps it's not up yet properlySame. And not stopping in a "Buffering" sense but stopping and then going back to the start again :(
But this site has done this to me before. I think you just need to get it at a time when there's low traffic and not when the game is just uploaded.
My advice is play it, then pause it while it's running... then leave it running in the background and come back to it a couple of hours later. Should have loaded by then.

I just tried playing it directly through Windows Media Player and it's been playing for over an hour without it pausing, buffering or stopping. If you don't know how to do that and want to know how just PM me.

Annnd LinuxSystems has been shut down.
Here's the message posted on the site:
On Request of the AFL Manager of Legal & Business Affairs this page has been temporarily removed.
Linux and Macintosh users will need to have a look at the BIGPONDTV (AFL.COM.AU) LINUX HOWTO. until this matter is resolved.
This site has never hosted or broadcast any video content owned by the AFL or Telstra.
All content made available was remotely linked to publicly available content hosted on and broadcast by Telstra owned servers.
Heh... amusing. I wonder if this will open Telstra's eyes on how easy it is to access video's from the AFL site? Hope not...
